Biography 

Dr. Janet Blank-Libra teaches literature courses (fiction and nonfiction), photojournalism, multimedia, law of the press, a variety of writing courses and courses specific to the university’s honors program. She has received the Vernon and Mildred Niebuhr Faculty Excellence Award for teaching and has twice received the ASA Faculty of the Year Award. She served a 3-year appointment as the recipient of an endowed chair that holds the title "The Chair of Moral Values." She is the author of Pursuing an Ethic of Empathy in Journalism, published  by Routledge in 2017.
