Biography
Jay Marchand is the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) director within the Harriet Emily Scott Social Work Program at Augustana University. Marchand is a licensed certified social worker and has practiced in the field since graduating with his BSW from the University of Sioux Falls in 2008.
Marchand has experience working with many populations, including youth in residential treatment facilities, child protective services, incarcerated fathers, addiction, homelessness and domestic violence offenders. Prior to joining Augustana, he was the director of a program that served men and women involved with the criminal justice system. Through this work, Marchand and his team created a holistic program to assess and provide intervention for individuals that have used domestic violence in their relationships. He has a strong interest in the areas of social justice, addiction, criminal justice reform and domestic violence.
Marchand enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs, LA Galaxy and New York Yankees.
