Biography 

Dr. Krislyn Carlson joined Augustana University's Sharon Lust School of Education in 2024 as an assistant professor. She has 26 years of classroom experience in K-12 special education. Carlson earned an Ed.D. in curriculum & instruction with emphases in special education and educational administration from the University of South Dakota. Her dissertation research focused on reading fluency interventions for students with learning disabilities. Carlson's interests include adapting literacy and language instruction for individuals with significant cognitive disabilities and complex communication needs.
