Lindsay Perry, PT, DPT

Biography 

Dr. Lindsay Perry received both a B.S. in health science in 2005 and a DPT degree in 2008 from the University of Florida. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the physical therapy program at Texas Woman’s University with anticipated completion in 2024. She has 15 years of clinical experience delivering patient-centered interprofessional care to those with neurologic conditions across multiple settings. She has also provided clinical mentorship as a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic PT to clinicians in neurologic residency programs.

 

Perry gained experience in rehabilitation research early in her career as a research physical therapist. She supported research initiatives investigating the assessment and treatment of walking recovery in people with neurologic conditions. This experience shaped her current research interests in exploring walking ability and higher-level mobility in people with Parkinson Disease. Perry’s combined clinical research and 10 years of teaching experience have allowed her to teach in multiple content areas, such as movement science, neuroscience, neuromuscular rehabilitation, therapeutic interventions and complex patient management. Perry’s teaching philosophy incorporates a variety of teaching and learning theories aimed to empower her students to be resourceful, self-advocating, life-long learners.

 

Perry believes service is an essential component of the academic profile and currently serves as a board member for the non-profit Rebloom Center, Inc. She has served in multiple roles at the local and state levels of the Florida Physical Therapy Association and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. In her not-so-frequent spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and three pups in the Florida sunshine.
