Augustana University is proud to have earned a spot on WalletHub’s “2021’s Best Universities Rankings” list. The well-known website that provides reviews of financial products, professionals and companies ranked Augustana No. 1 in South Dakota, No. 30 in the Midwest and No. 157 nationwide among universities who offer “top notch education at the most reasonable prices.”
In order to make WalletHub’s list, Augustana was compared to nearly 900 universities across 30 key measures in seven categories, including student selectivity, cost and financing, faculty resources, campus safety, campus experience, education outcomes and career outcomes.
Augustana also made WalletHub’s “2021’s Best College & University Rankings” list — ranked in the top 50 in the Midwest and top 20 percent of the more than 1,000 higher-education institutions surveyed. The institutions selected were judged on metrics ranging from student-faculty ratio and graduation rates to post-attendance median salaries and student loan default rates.
Augustana has also been named a top regional university for the second straight year by U.S. News & World Report — ranking #13 in Best Regional Universities in the Midwest. The university was recently ranked the Best College in South Dakota by Niche and made the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and Times Higher Education (THE) list of top U.S. colleges and universities.
This summer, career site Zippia ranked Augustana No. 1 nationally for Best Small Colleges for Getting a Job and the second-highest college for post-graduate employment in the nation. College Raptor also identified Augustana as a 2021 Hidden Gem in the U.S., a Top 25 Best Urban Hidden Gem and the top college in the state to be named a Hidden Gem in the Plains Region.
