Augustana University is excited to announce that its fifth annual Giving Day will take place on Friday, May 14 — a 24-hour fundraising event that encourages alumni, parents, staff, faculty, coaches, administrators and friends to “Make an Impact.”
An investment on Giving Day ensures that Augustana can continue to make strides in the university’s strategic plan Viking Bold: The Journey to 2030, and carry out its mission to provide an education of enduring worth. A gift to The Augustana Fund provides essential resources to support mission-critical priorities at the university. Thanks to the philanthropic support of our alumni and friends, Augustana is able to provide 100 percent of our students with financial aid and scholarships.
“Community is at the heart of the Augustana tradition. Giving Day is an opportunity for our community to reflect on how Augustana has impacted their life and the impact they can have on Augustana and our students today. Ultimately, I hope people will give with their hearts and support the areas that speak to their passions,” said Associate Vice President for Development Jon Mammenga.
Through The Augustana Fund, Giving Day 2021 allows the Augustana community to “Make an Impact” in several additional areas in need of support, including:
- AU Impact Scholarships
- Academic Programs
- Athletics
- Augie Access
- Campus Life
- Campus Ministry
- Center for Western Studies (CWS)
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I)
- Dramatic Arts
- International Programs Office (IPO)
- Library Associates
- Nursing Simulation Endowed Fund
- School of Education
- School of Health Professions
- School of Music
- Student Success
- Sustainability
- Visual Arts
Augustana has a goal of raising $350,000, which would establish a new record at the university. In 2020, the AU community contributed nearly 600 gifts to the campaign, totaling more than $330,000.
