Kiana Overby has been appointed as Augustana University’s new Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations.
In this position, Overby will be responsible for developing compelling integrated strategies and tactics to engage and inspire philanthropic support, and recognize alumni through short- and long-term initiatives that align with the strategic vision of the university. She will work with donors to secure gifts to the Augustana Annual Fund, provide leadership to the University’s Alumni and Young Alumni (GOLD) Councils, advise Class Agents and coordinate alumni engagement events throughout the country and reunion events during Viking Days.
Overby will look to cultivate strong relationships, raising private support for the student, faculty and programming needs of AU, as well as identifying ways to build and foster strong connections between alumni and friends of Augustana.
An Augustana alumnus herself, Overby graduated in 2018 with a B.A. in sports management and minor in business administration. Her AU family ties stem back to her father and aunt, both of whom are Augustana graduates.
“We’re extremely excited to welcome Kiana back to Augustana in this capacity,” said Dr. Pam Homan, vice president for advancement. “Her self-motivating character, strategic thinking and infectious enthusiasm make her the perfect candidate for this position, and we have no doubt she will excel and be an immediate asset to the team.”
