Message from President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin:
Dear faculty, staff and students,
Mayor Paul TenHaken is asking organizations across the city to help recruit volunteers and share information for this weekend's cleanup efforts following the mid-week storms. Please see the Mayor's message below.
I also want to thank everyone who has assisted friends and colleagues on campus and throughout the broader community over the past few days. It has been a challenging set of circumstances, and I appreciate the hard work, long hours, patience, understanding and love we have shown one another.
I wish you a safe and good weekend.
Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, president
Message from Mayor Paul TenHaken
Our community needs your help!
Since Sioux Falls was impacted by Tuesday night’s tornadoes, the quick activation of public and private recovery teams has been tremendous. Sioux Falls is well on its way to recovery and that is thanks to many volunteers answering the call for help.
We are truly blessed to live in this community, and the past few days has reinforced this.
However, we still have work to do to support our community in the recovery efforts and we could use your help! I’d encourage you to rally some of your friends and family to help Sioux Falls clean up. Hundreds of people have volunteered so far, and we need you to help join the recovery if you haven’t already.
You can help by going directly to the Volunteer Reception Center, located at 1000 North West Avenue, today until 6 p.m. and again tomorrow any time between 8 a.m. and noon. They will direct volunteers to the areas most in need of help.
Thank you for your support!
