Residence Halls at AU

Augustana University residence halls provide students with a rich community experience full of support, learning and fun.

  • Each hall has shared lobbies, lounges, kitchens and recreation rooms. Rooms are provided with twin XL
    beds, closet/wardrobe, dressers, desks, desk chairs and a shared microchill unit (fridge, freezer and
    microwave).
  • Entrances to the halls are secured 24 hours a day. Each residence hall also has a team of student Viking
    Advisors (VAs) and a live-in professional staff member to assist in community building, additional support and
    crisis management. Staff are typically in the hall throughout the day, and designated VAs are on-call and
    accessible to students every night after 7 p.m.
  • Residence hall floors/wings are assigned based on gender, but students can choose to opt in to gender-
    inclusive, flexible housing floors/suites.

A.J. Bergsaker Hall

Bergsaker Hall, renovated in 2021, is for first-year students and features four floors of double rooms with each wing designated by gender. 

Amenities in Bergsaker include an elevator, air conditioning, study rooms and a lounge on each floor, a spacious lobby with a TV, kitchen and laundry room.

Anthony G. Tuve Hall

Tuve Hall, opened in 1950. With room renovations in 2016 and common area renovations in 2024, this unique community houses first-year and upper-class students on three coed floors. With spacious single rooms and cozy common spaces, Tuve is perfect for students looking for a balance of privacy and community.

Amenities include an air-conditioned classroom, study rooms, a kitchen and lounge. Each floor has a laundry room and day rooms.

Charles Orin Solberg Hall

Solberg Hall, renovated in 2022, is open to upper-class students, with genders divided by wing. 

Amenities in Solberg include a lounge on every wing, renovated kitchen, numerous study areas, an elevator and laundry room. Solberg is also home to the Campus Clinic, DE&I Affinity Room and LGBTHQ.

Clemens M. Granskou Hall

Granskou Hall is for upper-class students on the north side of campus and features eight floors designated by gender with the exception of first floor, which is flexible housing. Granskou Hall, along with its sister building, Stavig Hall, boast unbeatable highrise views of campus and the surrounding area.

Amenities in Granskou include elevators, air conditioning, a lounge on each floor, basement recreation area with a TV and tabletop games, computer lab, kitchen, a piano room and laundry facilities.

East Hall

East Hall is for 3rd- and 4th-year students and has a variety or room layouts that lend to its cozy charm. The second floor offers semi-private rooms, where two students share adjoining spaces, and the third and fourth floors offer single rooms. Floors are designated by gender.

Amenities in East Hall include lounge areas, a game room, computer lab, as well as a kitchen and laundry room.

East Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hall was built in 1905 — originally named Ladies Hall — and became East Hall when it was renovated in 1980.

Lawrence M. Stavig Hall

Stavig Hall is for first-year students on the north side of campus and features eight floors designated by gender with the exception of first floor, which is flexible housing. Ralph H. Wagoner Hall

Wagoner Hall, opened in 2021, is for first-year and upper-class students on three coed floors. Suites consist of two double rooms connected by a shared restroom. Suites are assigned based on gender, however, upper-class students may opt into a flexible housing suite and select roommates regardless of gender.

Amenities in Wagoner include an elevator, air conditioning, classroom, study room and a lounge on each floor, as well as a kitchen and laundry facilities. Wagoner Hall is also home to the jewel box, a community space that includes a classroom, teaching kitchen, study rooms, conference room and lounge.
