Augustana University partners with Oregon Education Association (OEA) to offer graduate credit for the successful completion of NEA Micro-Credentials. This provides teachers the ability to earn graduate credit for up to 203 different 1-credit hour courses.
OEA offers learning opportunities for members to increase their knowledge and skills through many different content areas. More information is available on OEA’s website.
What is a Micro-Credential?
NEA Micro-Credentials are a competency-based digital form of certification. They support professional educators in the development of skills and knowledge acquisition needed to improve professional practice that supports student success.
How can I earn graduate credit for completing a Micro-Credential?
Augustana University is the exclusive crediting institution for Micro-Credential graduate credit in partnership with the OEA in Oregon. Upon completion of a course, educators can register for credit.
When registering, you will be asked to upload your electronic badge for each course. The cost for transcribing the course to earn 1 graduate credit for each course is $50. You may register for credit for more than one course at a time.
Can the credits earned be used towards a Master’s degree?
Yes, students interested in Augustana’s Learner Design Master of Education degree are able to transfer in up to 9 credit hours of Continuing Education graduate credit. Micro-Credential courses can be applied to these 9 credits. To learn more, visit the Master of Education page.
Before registering, be sure to have the following:
- Know the Stack(s) from which your course(s) are found.
- Know the name of the course.
- Have your electronic badge available to upload as a .pdf or .jpeg.
- Have a credit card available for payment.
