Year-End Giving Guide

Online gifts are a convenient way to share your financial support. You will receive a timely receipt via email.

Checks received by mail are processed and receipted based on the envelope postmark date. If a check does not arrive in a postmarked envelope, its processing date is based on when it is received. Find AU's mailing address at the bottom of the page.

  • To give a gift by phone, call 605.274.4117.
  • Stock transactions are processed and receipted according to the date the shares are transferred into Augustana's account.
  • If you are a member of Thrivent Financial, you can choose to direct Thrivent Choice Dollars to Augustana University.
  • IRA funds may be used to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). The QCD is available up to $100,000 for individuals who are over age 70 1/2. 
  • Augustana's Tax ID number is 46-0224588.

Year-End Giving Deadlines

To ensure your generous contribution is counted in the 2024 tax year, please follow these guidelines for year-end giving.

  • Checks | Must be received or postmarked by Tuesday, Dec. 31
  • Credit Card (Online) | Must be made by 11:59 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Dec. 31
  • Credit Card (Phone or Mail) | Must be received by 5 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Dec. 31
  • Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from IRA | Assets must be received by 5 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Dec. 31
  • Stocks/Securities | Assets must be received by 3 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Dec. 31
  • Wire Transfers | Need to be successfully deposited in AU's wire account by 11:59 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Dec. 31
  • Matching Gifts | Check with your comany's HR department to ensure matching gifts are received by Tuesday, Dec. 31
  • Thrivent Choice Dollars | Check with your Thrivent representative to ensure Choice Dollars are received by Tuesday, Dec. 31

 

Augustana Holiday Closing 2024

  • The university will be closed Monday, Dec. 23 through Friday, Dec. 27, as well as on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
