Assistant Coach for Strength & Conditioning
Augustana University invites applications for an Assistant Coach for Strength & Conditioning. This is a full-time, 12-month position within our Athletic Department that provides administrative, instructional, academic and recruiting support services under the direction and supervision of the Head Coach. This position is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the sport program as well as possible additional responsibilities as assigned within the athletic department.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist Head Coach in all day-to-day operations of strength and conditioning program.
- Adhere to all NCAA and Conference affiliated bylaws set forth by the governing bodies.
- Understand and adhere to the Augustana Athletic Department Manual that outlines general staff conduct.
- Implement and monitor safe and effective strength and conditioning programs to improve physical performance for intercollegiate teams.
- Test student-athletes to evaluate performance level and desired areas of improvement.
- Design training strategies for injury prevention and improve sport specific performance.
- Maintain accurate strength and conditioning records.
- Instruct, educate, and supervises all student-athletes regarding proper weight training and flexibility techniques.

- Implement and monitor safe and effective strength and conditioning programs to improve physical performance for intercollegiate teams.
Qualifications
- A BS/BA in exercise science or a health-related field and hold CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must maintain certification through a nationally recognized strength and conditioning program.
- Must maintain current certification in CPR and AED.
- Experience in the field of Sports Performance with student-athletes in a collegiate setting.
