Beyond the Books: Internship Allows Criminal Justice and Anthropology Major to Better Understand Prison System
Amelia Jibben ‘25, of Sioux Falls, is a criminal justice and anthropology double major with a concentration in forensics. Jibben interned with the South Dakota State Penitentiary over the summer where she was able to get hands-on experience in the prison system. There, her job duties included listening to inmates' complaints and doing her best to assist them.

The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at Augustana opens “The Augustana Faculty Biennial,” showcasing recent works by university art instructors and faculty, as well as faculty emeriti. Azam Shaik ‘25 is a data science, quantitative economics and finance triple major from Hyderabad, India. At Augustana, he is a Viking Advisor (VA), Augustana Cultural Exchange (ACE) Ambassador, Beacom Research Fellow, tutor and involved with the Viking Distance Project and intramurals. This summer, Shaik completed a remote internship with CORE Molding Technologies, a plastics engineering solutions company.
