- 5:47 AM - Solberg Hall Parking Lot (2312 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Tow. CSO observed a vehicle without a parking permit parked in a parking space in the lot. Upon checking, he discovered it had 5 prior parking violations and had been issued a tow warning on 10/21/24 that any further violations would result in the vehicle being towed. Jim & Ron's Towing arrived and removed the vehicle from campus. An incident report was completed.
- 4:59 PM - Wagoner Hall (2300 S. Grange Ave) Elevator Rescue. Campus Safety received a call from a student reporting he was stuck in the elevator. CSO responded and was unable to get the elevator to move or the doors to open. SFFR responded, extricated the student, and turned off the power so nobody else would get trapped before the elevator is checked and repaired. CSO placed out of order signs on the elevator on each floor. An incident report was completed.

- 2:16 AM - Svendsbye Apartments, Parking Lot (2410 S. Summit Ave) Vehicle Tow. CSO observed a vehicle without a parking permit parked in a parking space in the lot. Upon checking, he discovered it had 4 prior parking violations, had been issued a tow warning that any further violations would result in the vehicle being towed. Jim & Ron's Towing arrived and removed the vehicle from campus. An incident report was completed.
- 7:15 PM - Edith Mortenson Center, Loading Bay (2112 S. Grange Ave) Stray Animal. SODEXO employee reported a stray cat appeared to be in distress outside the loading bay. CSO brought the cat that appeared to be malnourished and had no collar in out of the below freezing cold and called Animal Control. They responded and took custody of the cat. - 4:13 AM - Svendsbye Apartments (2410 S. Summit Ave) Wellness Check. Campus Safety received a phone call from a concerned party out of state requesting a check on a student who she had been talking to who had not been attending classes and had not had contact with her parents for an extended period. CSOs and the HDOC contacted the student who admitted to dealing with depression and was given several resources on and off campus that are available to assist her. She agreed to call her parents and to follow up with counseling. An incident report was completed.

- 4:22 PM - 30 Meters S/E of Bergsaker Hall, Next to the Pond (1110 W. 33rd St.) Hit & Run Vehicle Collision. While on patrol, CSO observed a vehicle up on the grass near the pond. He stopped and contacted several people standing near the vehicle who had witnessed it hit the fire hydrant after jumping the north curb of 33rd and then come to rest where it was abandoned by the driver. He fled on foot east bound on 33rd. SFPD arrived a few minutes later and apprehended the hit & run suspect on Minnesota Ave. and took a police report. The vehicle was removed from campus property and towed by PD. An incident report was completed.
- 4:45 PM - Wagoner Hall (2300 S. Grange Ave) Wellness Check. Parent requested Campus Safety to check on a student who was supposed to be en-route home for the holiday but they were unable to contact her cell phone. CSOs and the HDOC made contact with the occupants of her assigned room and one of the students identified themself as the student in question. She said her grandparents were picking her up and bringing her home and everything was fine. CSOs returned to the office and notified the parents of the out come. An incident report was completed.

- 5:15 AM - Solberg Hall Parking Lot (2312 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Tow. CSO observed a vehicle without a parking permit parked in a parking space in the lot. Upon checking, he discovered it had 6 prior parking violations, had been issued a tow warning that any further violations would result in the vehicle being towed, and had already been towed once on 11/11/24. Eastgate Towing arrived and removed the vehicle from campus. An incident report was completed.
- 10:15 AM - Morrison Commons, Campus Safety Office (2112 S. Grange Ave) Medical Aid. Student came to the office and reported she had cut her finger. CSO looked at it, advised her to clean it up and after she did so, covered it with two bandages. She declined any further medical attention. An incident report was completed.
- 1:45 PM - 1:45 PM - Costello Hall (2413 S. Grange Ave) Well Being Check. CSOs observed a couple of SFPD officers talking with a student in front of the residence hall. The student had called the police because he did not want to fall into the cycle of domestic violence that is in his family history. His girlfriend had locked him out after an argument and was going to take their 15 month old child to her brother's place and stay with him. The student was advised of some mental health resources available to him on and off campus. It was determined he was not a threat to his family so the police and CSOs cleared the scene. - 1:00 PM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium, Visitors Bleachers (2700 S. Lake Ave) Medical Emergency. During a football game, CSOs responded to a call of a spectator from the visiting team suffering from an unknown medical problem. He was conscious and breathing, laying in the grass by the bleachers. He complained of feeling hot and not feeling well but did not know what was wrong. CSOs called paramedics who responded and transported the subject to the hospital after checking his vitals. An incident report was completed.
- 7:00 PM - East Hall, (2001 S. Summit Ave) Cyber Stalking. Student reported receiving text messages from an unknown person who knows personal information about her including her full name, where she lives, who her friends are, and even a recent incident she has not discussed with others. She tried to call the number which she did not recognize but it was a "dead number". CSO advised her to report this to SFPD and to contact Campus Safety if she has any further contact from the individual. An incident report was completed.

- 3:22 AM - Stavig Hall, University Place (2008 S. Walts Ave) Vehicle Tow. CSO observed a vehicle without a proper parking permit parked Facing E/B along the south curb of University Place in front of the residence hall. Upon checking, he discovered it had no valid parking permit and had been issued 4 prior parking citations and a tow warning that any further violation would result in the vehicle being towed. Jim & Ron's Towing arrived and removed the vehicle from campus. An incident report was completed.

- 1:22 PM - Granskou Hall (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Welfare Check. Parents of a student came to the campus and requested to be let into their son's room because they were unable to reach him by phone for a couple of days. CSOs had them wait in the Residence Life office while they checked on him in his residence hall. The student said he was fine and had not received any calls from his parents. He returned to the office with the CSOs to talk with them and when he showed them his phone had no messages from them it suddenly started to show the calls from his father. There was no further issue. An incident report was completed.

- 11:30 PM - Morrison Commons, Edith Mortenson Center (2112 S. Grange Ave) Welfare Check. CSO was contacted by a VA and a student who was suffering from anxiety which was causing him to have difficulty breathing. The VA was attempting to calm the student down by walking with him in the Commons and talking to him but requested assistance from the CSO. The student was feeling better after a while and returned to his room with a plan to watch some YouTube videos and call his family if he became anxious again. An incident report was completed.

- Morrison Commons, Campus Safety Office (2112 S. Grange Ave) Medical Aid. Student voluntarily requested an escort to Avera Behavioral Health. CSO provided a ride to the facility in a marked Campus Safety patrol vehicle and notified the HDOC. CSO insured the student was processed into the clinic and was being attended to before returning to the campus. An incident report was completed.

- 2:10 AM - Bergsaker Hall, Fire Lane (1110 W. 33rd St.) Fire Safety Violation. CSO observed a vehicle parked in the posted "NO PARKING FIRE LANE" in front of the residence hall at approximately 9:20 PM, 11/15/24 and issued a parking citation. At about 2:10 AM, 11/16/24 another CSO observed the vehicle was still there and had the vehicle towed for the Fire Lane safety violation. An incident report was completed.

- 1:45 PM - University Center, Welcome Center Parking Lot (2100 S. Summit Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Employee reported a suspicious occupied vehicle in the parking lot for over an hour. When CSOs drove into the lot, the vehicle moved and parked on the street. They made contact with the subject in the vehicle who refused to identify himself and said he didn't need to talk to them. The subject and his vehicle were photographed and he was identified after further investigation. An incident report was completed.
- 11:47 PM - Elmen Center, Circle Driveway (2505 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Tampering/Assault. Student reported seeing a subject attempting to enter her vehicle which was parked in the driveway in front of the building. CSOs responded and were able to follow the individual as he fled on a bicycle. When the suspect saw he was being followed by a CSO, he pulled a pistol from his waistband and pointed it back at the CSO who immediately stopped and reversed his patrol unit. While remaining a safe distance while keeping the subject in sight he relayed information to the dispatcher who passed it on to SFPD. The suspect was apprehended by SFPD and charged with vehicle tampering, assault and several other charges. The pistol was still in his possession and turned out to be an air-soft gun. - 12:00 PM - Svendsbye Apartments, On Street Parking (2410 S. Summit Ave) Theft. Student came to the Campus Safety office and reported a theft of several items from her vehicle while it was parked on the street along the east curb in front of the apartment building. It was parked at about 8:00 PM, Monday 11/11/24 and she noticed the contents of the glove box and center console had been rummaged through with some cash and a couple of other items missing on Wednesday 11/13/24. The victim thinks the passenger door may not have been locked since there was no damage to the vehicle. An incident report was completed.

- 2:13 PM - Soleberg Hall, Campus Clinic (2312 S. Grange Ave) Medical Emergency. CSOs responded to a call of a student suffering chest pain. They arrived at the same time as SFFR and Paramedics and all entered the clinic to see what was happening. Inside they found a student who was there to have his blood pressure checked due to an ongoing medical issue. His blood pressure was elevated and his heart was racing so the nurse called 911. The student declined transport by ambulance but called his brother who responded to take him to Sanford ER. An incident report was completed.
- 2:15 PM - East Hall, Parking Lot (2001 S. Summit Ave) Auto Burglary. Student reported sometime between 5:00 PM, on 11/11/24 and 2:10 PM on 11/13/24 while her vehicle was parked in the lot, unknown person(s) had broken in and stolen a few items from inside the glove box and center console. The vehicle had been locked and entry appears to have been made using some type tool that tore the weather stripping around the left rear door. An incident report was completed.
- 3:05 PM - Wagoner Hall, Parking Lot (2300 S. Grange Ave) Auto Burglary. Student reported sometime between 9:00 PM, on 11/11/24 and 3:00 PM on 11/13/24 while her vehicle was parked in the lot, unknown person(s) had broken in to her locked vehicle and stolen a few items from inside the glove box. There was no obvious damage to the vehicle to indicate how entry was made. An incident report was completed.
- 6:13 PM - Midco Arena, East Parking Lot (2510 S. Grange Ave) Theft. Campus Safety received a phone report of a theft from a vehicle that had occurred while it was parked in the arena lot. The victim was in hockey practice from about 5:50 PM to 6:56 PM and is not sure if his vehicle was locked or not. He did not notice two duffel bags containing shoes and miscellaneous sports gear were missing until he got home. A review of security video footage shows a subject entering the vehicle at 6:13 PM and removing two black bags. He then left w/b on a bicycle behind the arena and turned n/b on Grange Ave and w/b on 33rd St. An incident report was completed.

- 11:04 AM - Svendsbye Apartments (2410 S. Summit Ave) Fire Safety Violation. While walking through the building, CSO smelled the strong odor of burnt food in the hallway. Upon checking the fire alarm panel it showed an alarm at one of the apartments. CSO checked the apartment and found the microwave wide open with 3 candles burning nearby in an obvious violation of campus rules. An incident report was completed.
- 11:26 AM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Medical Aid. CSOs and HDOC responded to a call of a student suffering abdominal pain and breathing problems. They contacted paramedics and the student was transported to Sanford Hospital for evaluation and treatment. An incident report was completed.

- 11:22 AM Elmen Center (2505 S. Grange Ave) Theft. SODEXO staff reported unknown person(s) had removed bottles of soft drinks from a pallet of product that had been in the open lobby area of the building for several days. An incident report was completed.

- 12:50 PM - Tuve Hall, East Parking Lot (2016 S. Menlo Ave) Theft. Student reported someone had entered her vehicle and stolen property from it between 11:30 PM on 11/10/24 and 12:30 PM 11/11/24. The vehicle had been locked and entry was made using some kind of tool to go through the weather stripping and activate the door lock. An incident report was completed.

- 6:17 AM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Wellness Check. Campus Safety received a call reporting an intoxicated student had expressed intentions of self harm. The caller who only identified himself by first name said he was unable to get in touch with the student. Campus Safety and Residence Life staff attempted to make contact with the student and University administrators were informed. SFPD was also involved in trying to locate the student. When she was located, the student denied any intention to harm herself and said she did not know the reporting party. An incident report was completed.
- 11:45 AM - Wagoner Hall (2300 S. Grange Ave) Disorderly Conduct. CSOs contacted three juveniles in the entrance to the residence hall. They were not accompanied by an adult or a student and had no legitimate reason for being on campus. They were escorted off the grounds and instructed not to return. An incident report was completed.
- 4:55 AM - East Hall (2001 S. Summit Ave) Drug Paraphernalia. Student reported several syringes on the ground outside the residence hall. CSOs responded and found two used hypodermic needles on the pavement directly in front of the walkway up to the front entrance. They picked up the needles and placed them in a sharps container for safe disposal. An incident report was completed.

- 1:44 AM - Costello Hall (2413 S. Grange Ave) Noise Complaint. Sioux Falls Metro Communications advised SFPD officers were responding to a noise complaint at the residence hall. CSOs met them there but they did not hear any noise in the building but did notice the strong odor of alcohol in the hallway in front of a second floor apartment. Police knocked on the door but got no response. Police and CSOs then cleared the scene. An incident report was completed.
- 11:30 AM - Off Campus (33rd St. Between Prairie Ave. and Summit Ave) Theft. Student reported his vehicle was parked along the south curb facing e/b at about 11:30 PM on 11/08/24. When he returned to the vehicle he discovered someone had rifled through the center console and his backpack. Two sets of Airpods were missing from the backpack. CSOs on the overnight shift found some books belonging to the victim on the pavement at about 3:30 AM. An incident report was completed.
- 2:15 PM - Fryxell Humanities Center (2120 S. Grange Ave) Disorderly Conduct.CSO observed a non-student laying on the grass near a residence hall. When he exited his patrol vehicle and attempted to make contact with the individual, he got on a bicycle and started riding N/B on campus. The CSO got back into his vehicle and drove to a point where he could head the subject off. Upon contacting him the individual refused to identify himself or give a reason for being on campus. He had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breathe and person and took a drink out of what appeared to be a vodka bottle as CSOs escorted him of University grounds. An incident report was completed.
- 3:40 PM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium (2700 S. Lake Ave) Assault, Disorderly Conduct. During the football game, fans of the opposing teams got into a verbal altercation which escalated to a physical attack by one female on another after a cup of beer was spilled on a male subject. CSOs separated the combatants and SFPD officers responded and took an assault report. Participants were escorted out of the stadium. An incident report was completed.
- 11:30 PM - Soleberg Hall (2312 S. Grange Ave) Alcohol Violation. VA reported students drinking in the lobby. CSO responded and found several students and a non-student in possession empty beer cans as well as some containing beer. They emptied out out the beer in the bathroom sink and threw the empties in the trash. An incident report was completed.

- 12:53 AM - Fryxell Humanities Center (2120 S. Grange Ave) Trespass.While conducting a walk through patrol of the building, CSOs found a female non-student in one of the basement music practice rooms. They recognized her as the same individual who had been escorted off campus several nights earlier and warned at that time that she would be subject to arrest for trespass if caught on campus again. CSOs explained this to her once again, had her sign a trespass form and gave her a copy. She was once again escorted of the campus and advised SFPD will be called and she will be arrested if found on Augustana property again. An incident report was completed.
- 1:15 AM - Bergsaker Hall, North Bike Rack (1110 W. 33rd St.) Bicycle Theft. CSO found a bike frame with no wheels at the bike rack. Review of security camera footage revealed a subject cutting the lock on a bicycle on the rack and stealing it and leaving this frame in its place after removing the wheels. The subject then rode away carrying the wheels. An incident report was completed.

- 7:35 AM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St.) Well Being Check. Dispatch received a call from a nursing professor expressing concern for a student who had not shown up for an important nursing clinical and students were unable to reach her by phone. CSOs and the HDOC made contact with the student at her room in the residence hall and she stated she had overslept because she had not gotten much sleep last night. CSO contacted the professor and advised the student was OK and would be contacting him. An incident report was completed.

- 2:25 AM - Wagoner Hall, Meditation Room (2300 S. Grange Ave) Trespass. While Patrolling the campus, CSOs were walking through the residence hall and discovered the door to the meditation room was locked. Using the key, they entered the room and found an individual was sleeping on the mats. Upon questioning the subject, they ascertained she is not a student and has no connection to, or legitimate reason to be on the campus. She stated she is currently living in her car but does not need assistance. She was advised to leave campus and that she would be charged with trespassing if she returned. The individual acknowledged the warning and complied. An incident report was completed.

- 8:10 AM - Wagoner Hall (2300 S. Grange Ave) Well being Check. A parent contacted Campus Safety and requested a check on a student since they had not spoken in a couple of weeks. The student is dealing with a number of issues at school and home. CSOs talked with the student and advised her of the resources available on campus to help cope with the issues she is facing and she was receptive. They then contacted the parent and advised of the status. An incident report was completed.
- 8:55 AM - Administration Building (2101 S. Summit Ave) Medical Aid. CSOs were called to the Business Office for an employee who was feeling "odd". She stated that she had been working at her desk when her neck started to hurt, her heartbeat accelerated and her jaw got tight. She was visibly distressed when CSOs talked to her but the symptoms were dissipating and she was returning to feeling normal. CSOs transported her to the Campus Health Clinic to be Checked by the Nurse Practitioner. An incident report was completed.
- 1:20 PM - East Hall (2001 S. Summit Ave) Vandalism. While on patrol, CSO found a spray can of green paint on the front porch area outside the east door of the residence hall. About 4' above the floor someone had spray painted a circle on the stone wall next to the entrance door. A maintenance request to have the paint removed was submitted. - 12:35 AM - Balcer Apartments (2420 S. Summit Ave) Noise Complaint. CSOs responded to a complaint of loud music in one of the apartments. Upon arrival they found a party with 20+ people in attendance They instructed the party goers to turn the music down and to keep all noise down or the party would be disbanded if Campus Safety received any further complaints. Shortly after they left, the dispatcher advised they had received another call stating that they had turned the volume back up as soon as the CSOs departed. CSOs returned and found it was in fact just as loud as when they first arrived so they ended the party and sent everyone away. An incident report was completed.
- 1:33 AM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Medical Aid/Alcohol Violation. CSOs responded to a call of an unconscious student. Upon arrival they found the student conscious but vomiting and intoxicated. Paramedics arrived and the student declined transport to the hospital. After checking her vital signs they cleared the student to remain on campus. An incident report was completed.

- 10:59 AM - Midco Arena, East Parking Lot (2510 S. Grange Ave) Attempted Vehicle Theft. While patrolling the parking lot, CSO discovered the rear passenger window of a parked vehicle was missing and there were shards of glass on the ground and in the vehicle. The owner was contacted and upon opening the car found that the steering column had been tampered with and was damaged. Nothing was missing from the vehicle which had been parked at approximately 6:30 PM the previous evening. The student was instructed to file an on line police report with SFPD. An incident report was completed.
- 5:29 PM - Bergsaker Hall, First Floor Kitchen (1110 W. 33rd St.) Suspicious Subject. Student reported a male subject in the residence hall asking for food. CSOs made contact and determined he had no legitimate reason to be on campus. The individual was instructed to leave and did so. An incident report was completed.

- 9:10 AM - Nelson Service Center, West Alley (2021 S. Menlo Ave) Stray Dog. CSOs responded to reports of a dog running loose on campus. They located the Husky in the alley between the Service Center and the houses on the east side of Grange Ave. The dog was caught in the back yard of one of the houses just as the owner arrived to take custody of her pet. An incident report was completed.
- 9:45 AM - Froiland Science Center, Lower West Side Entrance (2407 S. Summit Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student reported she had locked her bike to the bike rack at about 8:30 AM Tuesday, October 29, 2024 and discovered it was gone at approximately 9:40 AM Thursday, October 31, 2024. The student was advised to file a police report. An incident report was completed.

- 12:22 AM - Off Campus, Sidewalk in Front of (1410 W. 33rd St) Wellness check. CSO responded to a call of a student talking of self harm. The student wanted to get a ride to Brookings to see her boyfriend but her friends did not want to take her since he has been abusive in the past. She told the CSO she did not intend to harm herself but only said that to obtain a ride. The HDOC was notified and it was determined the student was not a danger to herself. An incident report was completed.
- 4:19 AM - Midco Arena, East Parking Lot (2510 S. Grange Ave) Attempted Vehicle Theft. CSO responded to a call from a SFPD officer who was on scene after a student had reported a vehicle break in. The door handle had been broken off and the side window was shattered with a rock to gain entry. This had activated the car alarm causing the suspect to flee on foot. A review of security camera footage showed the actions of the suspect. A police report was taken and an incident report was completed by the CSO.
- 3:25 PM - Midco Arena, Spectator Seating (2510 S. Grange Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Arena Staff requested an unauthorized subject be removed from the arena by CSOs. The individual was watching the hockey team practice and said he was interested in obtaining a scholarship to play for the team. CSO advised the individual the practice was closed to the public and he would have to leave. The individual complied and an incident report was completed.

- 12:27 PM - Elmen Center, South Parking Lot (2505 S. Grange Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Staff member reported a suspicious person walking around vehicles in the lot. CSOs made contact and discovered the female had no legitimate reason to be on campus and was not speaking rationally or coherently. SFPD responded and a PBT device showed the individual had a Blood Alcohol Concentration of .3. She was taken into custody and transported to the Link by SFPD to sober up after being issued a trespass form which she signed. An incident report was completed.

- 1:40 PM - Valhalla House (1923 S. Prairie Ave) Fire Alarm. CSO responded to a full activation of the alarm at the residence. Upon arrival students were already evacuating the building and they stated nobody had been cooking anything and they did not know why the alarm was activated. SFFR responded and checked the house but could find no cause for the activation. They reset the alarm and cleared the scene. An incident report was completed.

- 4:30 PM - Morrison Commons, Chick-fil-a (2112 S. Grange Ave) Medical Aid. Campus Safety was notified that an employee was experiencing an epileptic seizure of a longer duration than others she had suffered in the past. CSOs were also advised she had hit her head when the seizure first started and she hit the ground. SFFR were called and responded. After an initial evaluation the employee was transported to Sanford Hospital by ambulance. An incident report was completed.
- 4:48 PM - Edith Mortenson Center, Second Floor Women's Rest Room (2112 S. Grange Ave) Wellness Check. CSO responded to a report of a student having a panic attack. The student was on the floor in a fetal position crying uncontrollably, and hyperventilating. Several friends were with her attempting to console her. The CSO talked to the student and helped her regain her composure to the point of leaving the rest room. She agreed to make use of campus resources to deal with her sense of being overwhelmed and in the meantime agreed to drop some of the nonessential responsibilities that she has taken on. An incident report was completed.
- 6:28 AM - Edith Mortenson Center, Second Floor, Wagoner Street (2112 S. Grange Ave) Non-Student Sleeping. SODEXO employee reported a person sleeping on a bench near the kitchen/loading dock area. CSOs made contact and confirmed the subject had no legitimate reason for being on campus. They escorted him out of the building and off campus. The individual was cooperative. - 9:30 AM - Midco Arena (2510 S. Grange Ave) Missing Person. Campus Safety received a report from a member of the coaching staff regarding a missing student athlete. The student had suffered a concussion during practice on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 and was last seen or heard from on Saturday October 19th. The off campus house the student rents with several USF students was checked and they had not seen the individual since Saturday. The student's family was contacted and they had also been unable to reach the student since Saturday. A missing person report was filed with SFPD and attempts were made to contact the student via social media. At approximately 1:00 PM the student called the coach and advised they had lost their phone and met with the coach at about 2:30 PM upon returning to campus. The missing person case with SFPD was cancelled. An incident report was completed.

- 10:10 AM - Stavig Hall, Bike Rack (2008 S. Walts Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student came to the Campus Safety Office and reported he had left his bike secured in the bike rack on Sunday evening between 9:00 and 10:00 PM and discovered his lock had been cut and his bike was missing on Monday morning at about 10:10 AM. An incident report was completed.
- 5:17 PM - Froiland Science Center, West Driveway (2407 S. Summit Ave) Vehicle Collision. CSO responded to a report of a light pole that had been knocked down. CSOs notified maintenance, made sure the power to the fixture was turned off, and checked security video to see what happened. Footage showed that a grounds maintenance contractor vehicle had backed into the pole knocking it down. There was no indication the driver knew he even hit it before driving away. An incident report was completed.

- 2:51 PM - University Center, Parking Lot (2100 S. Summit Ave) Stalking. While on patrol, CSO observed the suspect vehicle from a stalking report taken on Thursday evening. CSOs made contact with the occupant of the vehicle who was the named suspect in the prior report and advised him he was not welcome on campus. He signed a Trespass Notice acknowledging he understood he would be arrested on any future occasion he is found on Augustana property. In the meantime, SFPD were called and arrested the individual on the stalking charges. The vehicle was towed by Jim & Ron's towing and stored at their facility. An incident report was completed.
- 3:59 PM - Mikkelsen Library (2117 S. Summit Ave) Soliciting. Employee reported an individual approaching students in the library soliciting money. CSOs searched the building but were unable to locate him. Upon returning to the Morrison Commons, CSOs found the individual doing the same thing. Since he is not a student, he was instructed to leave campus and told he could not be soliciting students. The individual was cooperative and left campus on foot. An incident report was completed.
- 5:14 PM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St.) Fire Safety Violation. Campus Safety received a call from a student reporting the smoke detector in her room was going off. A CSO responded and found the student had been cooking using an air frier in her room and a paper towel she had the food on had ignited. She had the window open and the smoke detector had reset as the room aired out although there was still some residual smoke. An incident report was completed.

- 6:53 PM - University Center, Parking Lot (2100 S. Summit Ave) Stalking. CSO received a report from a student staff member of another employee having issues with a former boyfriend stalking her. She was concerned the individual was on campus and might harm the employee. CSO made contact with the victim who advised she had been having problems with the ex-boyfriend stalking her, showing up at her church and apartment at different times and on one occasion he had "picked her up and squeezed" her causing pain until he dropped her when she hit him in the throat. She was able to run into her apartment and lock the door. The victim had not filed a police report and she was instructed to do so in order to get a restraining order against the subject. She was also instructed to call police if he approaches her again and to call Campus Safety if it is on or near campus. An incident report was completed.
- 10:52 PM - Granskou Hall (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Noise Complaint. CSOs responded to a noise complaint and found the two occupants of the room playing a video game. They were highly animated and vocal, making a lot of noise considering the late hour. CSOs instructed them to quiet down since other students were trying to sleep and they said the would comply. CSOs had responded to the same room about a week ago for the same reason and only issued a verbal warning at that time. An incident report was completed to document this occurrence in case it becomes a regular problem.

- 7:00 PM - Soleberg Hall, Bike Rack (2312 S. Grange Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student came to the Campus Safety Office to report his bicycle had been stolen sometime in the last week or so. He stated it had been secured with a combination cable bike lock. A review of security camera video showed a suspect cut the lock and rode away on the bike at 4:09 AM on Friday 10/04/2024. The theft took a total of 7 seconds from cutting the lock to leaving campus. An incident report was completed.

- 6:24 PM - Off Campus, (Summit Ave. East of Library Lot) Medical Aid. While patrolling campus, CSO observed a boy lying down in the middle of the street with two other children standing over him. All three children appeared to be about 10-12 years old. Out of concern for their safety, CSO approached and they said they were OK, that the boy had just fallen off his bike. CSO observed both of his knees, his elbow, lip and nose were bleeding. They declined an offer to call paramedics or a parent to respond but the injured boy did accept an offer to have his abrasions cleaned and bandaged. Another CSO arrived with a medical kit and after completing that, the children departed. An incident report was completed.
- 6:33 PM - Midco Arena, Viking Club (2510 S. Grange Ave) Medical Aid. CSO and CSO/Medic responded to a call at the club entrance. They found a gentleman sitting down who stated he had been exiting the club and walked right into the glass wall because it was so clean, he did not see it. The impact caused injury to his nose and a cut to the inside of his lip. He requested an ice pack which the medic gave to him but required no further assistance, An incident report was completed.
- 6:58 PM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Medical Aid. CSO received an automated Zuercher System notification from Metro Communications on the Campus Safety cell phone advising Emergency Services were responding to a call at the residence hall. Since the Campus Safety Office had not been called, CSOs responded to the room listed to assist if needed. Upon their arrival they were informed a student had surgery a couple of days ago and was suffering from severe abdominal pain most likely related to that surgery. The student was transported to Sanford Hospital by Ambulance. An incident report was completed.

- 3:40 AM - Elmen Center, North Parking Lot (2505 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Tow. CSO observed a vehicle without any parking permit, parked in the lot that is posted for no overnight parking. He cited the vehicle and upon checking, discovered it had accrued 4 parking violations and a tow warning already this semester. CSO called for a tow truck and the vehicle was picked up and taken by Jim & Ron's Towing to their storage facility. An incident report was completed.
- 3:13 AM - Fryxell Humanities Center, Staff Parking Lot (2120 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Tow. CSO observed a vehicle without a staff permit, parked in the staff only lot that is posted for no overnight parking. He cited the vehicle and upon checking, discovered it had accrued 6 parking violations and a tow warning already this semester. CSO called for a tow truck and the vehicle was picked up and taken by Jim & Ron's Towing to their storage facility. An incident report was completed.
- 12:40 PM Madsen Social Science Center (2301 S. Summit Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Several staff members and students reported seeing a non-student wandering through the building with no apparent reason for being on campus. As CSOs responded they observed a subject who matched the description given, walking toward the entrance to the Midco Arena. When contacted by CSOs he said he wanted to get a schedule for football and basketball games but was not overly cooperative. Instead of identifying himself he turned and walked away, leaving campus property. An incident report was completed.
- 1:03 PM - Madsen Social Science Center (2301 S. Summit Ave) Medical Aid. CSOs were dispatched to check on a student in the men"s room suffering from a nose bleed. Upon making contact, the student advised he was OK and his nose had stopped bleeding. He stated he has been getting nose bleeds for the last several weeks but he does not know why. He told the CSOs that he had to get to class and did not require any further assistance. They recommended he go to the Campus Health Clinic after class and he agreed to do so. An incident report was completed.

- 1:45 AM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Medical Aid/Alcohol Violation. CSOs and the HDOC responded to a call of intoxicated students in the residence hall. Upon arrival they found 2 students who were obviously inebriated, at least one of whom had vomited on the floor of the room. Based on the condition of the students, a call was made for paramedics and upon checking the students out, they determined one should be transported to the Sanford Emergency Room for observation and medical care. The second student did not have as high a Blood Alcohol content so one of his friends that was assisting him agreed to watch over him for the night while he remained in his room. An incident report was completed.
- 10:55 AM - Morrison Commons, SODEXO Dining Hall (2112 S. Grange Ave) Medical Aid. CSOs responded to a report of a student possibly suffering a heart attack. While waiting for medics to arrive, the student described feeling a sharp pain in his chest as he was climbing the stairs to the second floor dining hall. He stated he had been treated at the clinic for a viral infection and has been running a fever off & on for several weeks. After checking his vital signs medics transported the student to Sanford Emergency Room. An incident report was completed.
- 2:10 PM - East Hall (2001S. Summit Ave) Wellness Check. Several students were concerned because their friend was not answering his phone or the door to his room and had missed two midterm exams. They requested Campus Safety to check on his well being. CSOs were able to contact the student in his residence hall room and he stated he was not feeling well so he had made arrangements with his professors to take the exams the following day and remained in bed. It was determined he had no thoughts of self harm and he said he would contact the reporting parties and let them know he is OK. An incident report was completed.
- 3:13 PM - Soleberg Hall, Student Health Center (2312 S. Grange Ave) Medical Emergency. While patrolling the campus, CSO observed a SFFR Engine and an Ambulance pull into the residence hall parking lot. By the time he arrived at the health clinic, a student had already been loaded into the ambulance and it was leaving to transport her to the hospital. The Sanford employee who works at the clinic said the student had been suffering from some type of allergic reaction but did not have an Epi-pen with her. She advised the CSO of the students name but had little additional information. An incident report was completed.

- 10:30 AM - Stavig Hall, Bike Rack (2008 S. Walts Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student came to the Campus Safety Office and reported he had left his bike unsecured in the bike rack on Sunday evening and discovered it was missing on Monday afternoon at about 3:00 PM. An incident report was completed.
- 11:04 AM - East Hall (2001S. Summit Ave) Fire Hazard. CSO responded to the basement laundry room when a student reported a possible fire hazard. He had put a load of laundry in the washer and left the room. when he returned the machine was still running and he observed smoke and the odor of burning electrical wiring in the room. The CSO unplugged the machine and observed that it was overloaded. he instructed the student to divide his clothes into two loads and to use other washing machines. CSO placed an out of order sign on the machine, and submitted a maintenance request to have it serviced. An incident report was completed.
- 4:50 PM - Granskou Hall, South Bike Rack (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student came to the Campus Safety office and reported his bicycle had been stolen. He had last seen the bike on the evening of September 29th when he secured it to the bike rack with a cable bicycle lock. An incident report was completed.
- 6:24 PM - Wagoner Hall, Parking Lot (2300 S. Grange Ave) Theft From Vehicle. Student reported that she had found the driver's door of her car slightly open and noticed the contents of the vehicle including the glove compartment and center console had been rummaged through. All she noticed to be missing are several gift cards totaling about $50.00 that had been in the center console. She stated she had parked her vehicle in the lot about a week ago and thinks she may have left it unlocked. The theft could have occurred any time during that time. CSO advised she could file a police report with SFPD via the internet but she declined. An incident report was completed.
- 10:50 PM - 33rd St. & Summit Ave. East Alley. Disorderly Conduct. While patrolling the campus CSO came across a non-student passed out on the grass by the Summit Apartments. When the individual failed to comply with instructions to leave the premises, SFPD was called, officers responded and transported him from the scene. An incident report was completed.
- 11:34 PM - Bergsaker Hall, Main Lobby (1110 W. 33rd St.) Theft. Student reported he had several pizzas delivered to the residence hall and when he went down to the lobby to pick them up, they were gone. A review of security camera video shows the delivery being made and an individual exited the elevator and sat down at the table where they had been left. Several minutes later the subject stood up, picked up one of the pizzas and went back upstairs in the elevator. About 10 minutes later, the same person returned to the lobby, took the second pizza and went back up to the 4th floor with it. An incident report was completed.

- 9:23 AM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Wellness Check. CSOs and the HDOC contacted a student in her room at the request of a concerned parent who was supposed to meet her for breakfast but she had failed to show up. The father had been calling her phone and had not been able to reach her. When contacted by CSOs, the student said she had not been feeling well and had woke up at about 4:00 AM and was unable to get back to sleep until about 6:00 AM. She did not hear her phone ringing and only woke up when the CSOs and HDOC knocked on her door. The student said it was OK for her father who had been waiting outside to come into her room and they both said they didn't need any further assistance. An incident report was completed.
- 10:26 AM - Edith Mortenson Center, West Loading Dock Area (2112 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Collision. CSO responded to a collision that occurred as the driver of a delivery truck was attempting to maneuver around several vehicles which were parked in the fire lane in order to back into the loading bay for his delivery to the kitchen. As he did so, the rear wheels of his semitrailer went up over the steel/concrete poles set up to protect a fire hydrant and the tractor trailer was stuck. The mishap resulted in minor damage to the trailer and to the Augustana property, with no injuries to anyone. The driver's supervisor arrived and was able to get the vehicle unstuck without a tow truck and it was driven off campus after completing the delivery to SODEXO. A SFPD officer responded and issued a red tag to the driver. An incident report was completed.

- 5:42 AM - Grange Ave. between 29th St. and 33rd St. Vehicle Tows. CSO had four vehicles removed from east and west curbs of Grange Ave. by Jim and Ron's Towing and dropped in the Welcome Center parking lot (2100 S. Summit Ave) to clear the route for the Homecoming Parade. Temporary "No Parking" signs had been posted alongside the street and notices were posted at the entrances of campus buildings in addition to emails sent to all students advising of the parking restrictions. An incident report was completed.
- 4: 41 PM - Wagoner Hall, North Alley (2300 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Collision. Student reported she backed out of the paved area by the tennis courts and stopped facing w/b in the alley to set her stereo. As she did so, another student backing out of the alley hit the rear of her vehicle causing minor scratches to both vehicles. There were no injuries and SFPD officers responded to issue red tags to both drivers to get their vehicles repaired. An incident report was completed.
- 9:58 PM - Costello Hall (2413 S. Grange Ave) Marijuana Violation. CSOs responded to a report of the odor of burning marijuana in the residence hall. Upon entering the building they immediately noticed the slight odor which increased in strength as they climbed the stairs to the second floor. It was strongest in the area of rooms #207 and #208 but CSOs could not say definitively which room it might have come from. An incident report was completed.
- 10:14 PM - Soleberg Hall (2312 S. Grange Ave) Elevator Malfunction. CSOs responded to a report of a student trapped in an elevator stuck between floors. Upon their arrival they were able to call the elevator car down to the basement and when the doors opened, it was unoccupied. The CSOs tested the elevator by calling it to the second floor. It responded but upon arrival, the doors would not open. Out of order signs were posted on every floor covering the control buttons and a maintenance request to have the elevator checked out and repaired was submitted. An incident report was completed.
- 11:24 PM - East Hall (2001S. Summit Ave) Alcohol Violation. CSOs responded to a call of several intoxicated students. They found a University of South Dakota student and an Augustana student who were above .10 BAC when given a Preliminary Breath Test. The Augie student's level was going sown so a friend agreed to spend the night with her. Medics responded and transported the USD student to Sanford Hospital.

While patrolling the campus, CSO discovered three cable bicycle locks which had been cut, one each at the Soleberg, and Grandskou bike racks and one on the ground in the Wagoner Fire Lane. They were collected and brought back to the office as evidence. An incident report was completed.

- 10:56 AM - Bill Hall Baseball/Softball Complex (2812 S. Lake Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Student athlete reported a possibly intoxicated subject in the area of the batting cages. CSOs responded and made a thorough check of the area but were unable to locate the individual. Upon contacting the reporting party they were advised he had been last seen on the sidewalk of Lake Avenue. An incident report was completed.
- 1:26 PM - Morrison Commons, Dining Hall (2112 S. Grange Ave) Medical Aid. Student reported feeling dizzy and thought she might be on the verge of passing out. She was assisted to a chair by SODEXO staff who then alerted Campus Safety officers. When CSOs contacted the student a couple of minutes later she said the dizziness had passed and she was feeling much better. She said she might be dehydrated and declined any further medical assistance when it was offered. An incident report was completed.
- 4:53 PM - Stavig Hall, Bike Rack (2008 S. Walts Ave) Vandalism. While patrolling the campus, CSO noticed a bicycle cable lock that had been cut but left around the wheel of a bike and the bike rack as if it was still securing the bicycle. Considering the recent spike in bicycle thefts, he removed the bicycle for safekeeping and locked it in a storage facility on campus. The lock was collected as evidence. An incident report was completed.

- 12:45 PM - Administration Building (2101 S. Summit Ave) Inappropriate Contact with a Minor. An anonymous party posted a direct message on the Augustana Instagram alleging a student was sending inappropriate material via social media to an underage person. The recipient of the messages and video was not identified by the anonymous third party, and when more information was requested, the response was that they did not want to pursue the matter any further at this time. An incident report was completed.

- 5:28 PM - Nelson Service Center, N/E Parking Lot (2021 S. Menlo Ave) Stolen Vehicle. Student reported he had parked his car in a marked space at about 7:00 PM Monday night and discovered it was gone at 2:00 PM Tuesday. Nobody had permission to use the vehicle and the student admitted he had left the doors unlocked and the keys in the center console when he parked it. SFPD responded to take a stolen vehicle report. An incident report was completed.
- 5:58 PM - Wagoner Hall, Parking Lot (2300 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Burglary. Student reported unknown person(s) had rummaged through her vehicle and taken approximately $50.00 in coins. The theft occurred between 1:30 PM 9/30/24 and 5:58 PM 10/01/24 and nothing else appears to be missing. Student said she locked the vehicle and took the keys with her after parking in the lot. The weather stripping on the driver's door window has recent damage that indicates the suspect gained entry by jimmying the door with a hanger or similar device. An incident report was completed.

- 11:15 AM - Morrison Commons, Dining Hall (2112 S. Grange Ave) Policy Violation. SODEXO staff member requested CSO remove a student from the dining hall for violation of a new policy that requires all students to swipe in with their ID card. When the staff member advised the student, she said she lost her ID and joined her friends at a table. CSO escorted her from the dining hall to the Student Affairs office to get a replacement ID card. An incident report was completed.
- 6:45 PM - Off Campus, Banquet (900 E. 8th St.) Stalking. Student reported an individual she had been in contact with while conducting blood pressure checks at the Banquet as part of her nursing program had somehow discovered her last name and where she lives. He left a note on the windshield of her car when it was parked in her complex in the s/w part of the city, nowhere near the campus or the Banquet. An incident report was completed.
- 2:24 PM - Soleberg Hall, Bike Rack (2312 S. Grange Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student came to the Campus Safety Office to report her bicycle had been stolen before 9:00PM on September 29, 2024 when she first noticed it was missing. She stated it had been secured with a combination cable bike lock. An incident report was completed.

Student came to the Campus Safety Office to report her bicycle had been stolen sometime during the day on September 25, 2024 when she first noticed it was missing. A campus club which has not gone through the proper procedures to be recognized as a sanctioned group attempted to hold a meeting. CSOs had been instructed to advise them they could not do so until they were properly vetted and approved. The students were cooperative and dispersed when asked to do so. - 11:14 AM - Soleberg Hall, Bike Rack (2312 S. Grange Ave) Property Damage. CSO discovered a bicycle lock that had been cut but the bike was not taken. It was photographed and a review of security video revealed an individual cut the lock at about 5:18 AM and then leave without the bike. An incident report was completed.
- 4:35 PM - Bergsaker Hall, Bike Rack (1110 W. 33rd St.) Bicycle Theft. Student came to the Campus Safety Office with a bike lock that had been cut and reported she found it at the bike rack and there was no bike in the immediate proximity. Based on prior incidents, CSOs reviewed camera footage from about 5:15 AM and were able to see the individual cut the lock and remove a bicycle. An incident report was completed.
- 4:53 PM - Midco Arena, South Parking Lot (2510 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Collision. CSO received notification via the Campus Safety cell phone that SFPD was on scene at collision in the arena parking lot and responded. A staff member stated she was backing out of a parking space when she hit a vehicle that was stopped in the fire lane behind her. There were no injuries and only minor damage to the vehicles. The PD officer issued red tags to both parties. An incident report was completed.

While patrolling campus, CSO discovered several cable bike locks near the bike rack that had been cut and were not secured to any bicycles. Some time later a student came to the Campus Safety office and reported his bicycle had been stolen from the Stavig bike rack. An incident report was completed.

- 5:00 AM - Granskou Hall, (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Cyber Crime. Student reported receiving an e-mail demanding a large payment in bitcoin or compromising information would be sent to all of her contacts. She was advised not to respond to the e-mail and to talk to the campus IT people at the Help Desk. An incident report was completed.
- 9:53 AM - Granskou Hall, East Parking Lot (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Vehicle Collision. Student was backing into a parking space when she saw a vehicle approaching very fast. In an effort to get out of the path of the oncoming vehicle she accelerated backing and sideswiped the vehicle parked in the adjacent space. CSO located the owner of the other vehicle and exchanged information. SFPD was called and an officer responded and provided red tags for both vehicles. An incident report was completed.
- 12:00 PM - Chapel of Reconciliation (2125 S. Summit Ave) Mental Health Issue. While walking rounds, CSO came across an obviously upset student crying in the chapel. He asked if she wanted to talk and she began to explain what was bothering her. He asked if she would like to speak with a mental health professional and contacted the Director of Mental Health and Wellness who responded and escorted the student back to her office. An incident report was completed.
- 2:28 PM - Nelsen Apartments, Unit #5, Bedroom A (2320 S. Summit Ave.) Fire Safety Violation. CSOs responded to a fire alarm and the panel directed them to the apartment and bedroom where the problem originated. After receiving no answer to their knocking on the door and announcing themselves, the CSOs and the HDOC let themselves into the unlocked apartment they located the room containing the smoke detector which caused the activation and found it had been tampered with by placing tape over the sensor port in violation of fire codes and campus rules. An incident report was completed.
- 3:25 PM - Morrison Commons (2112 S. Grange Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student reported her bike cable lock was cut and her bicycle stolen from the bike rack on the south side of the building sometime in the last 2 days. An incident report was completed.

- 5:25 AM - Elmen Center, Parking Lot (2505 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Tow. Vehicle which had accumulated 4 prior parking citations and a tow warning upon the next violation, was found parked all night in an area posted no overnight parking. CSO called for a tow truck and the vehicle was removed from campus by Jim and Ron's Towing. AN incident report was completed.
- 8:17 AM - Granskou Hall, South Bike Rack (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student reported his bike was missing from the bike rack and that his cable lock had been cut and left on the rack. He is unsure exactly when the bike was stolen but it was some time in the last 4 days. An incident report was completed.
- 11:45 AM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St.) Fire Alarm. CSOs responded to a full activation of the alarm. Upon arrival students were already evacuating the building and SFFR were called. CSOs checked the alarm panel and found the alarm was set off in the kitchen area. Upon checking they found the stove was off but there was an empty pan and a burner that were still warm. A student admitted to have left some eggs she was cooking unattended for 30 seconds while she transferred her laundry from a washer to a dryer. Fire personnel reset the alarm and cleared the building. An incident report was completed.

Student reported that as she was slowly driving through the lot, her vehicle was struck by another vehicle that started backing out of a parking space. The student backing out of the parking space said he did not see the other vehicle passing behind him prior to the impact. A SFPD officer responded and provided an incident number and red tags for each vehicle. An incident report was completed.
- 7:42 PM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St.) Medical Aid. CSOs responded to a call of a student possibly fainting. Upon arrival she was laying on the floor in the hallway and said she had suffered momentary impaired vision and dizziness, so she asked for help. After resting for a few minutes the student said she was feeling better and was going to get something to eat since she had not eaten all day. She declined any further assistance or medical attention so CSOs cleared the scene. An incident report was completed.

- 8:52 PM - Off Campus (Intersection of 33rd St. & Grange Ave) Traffic Collision. While patrolling the east side of FSC, CSO heard a loud crash from the east side of campus. As he drove onto E/B 33rd St. he saw two vehicle in the intersection. CSOs used their vehicles to block the intersection and collected information while they waited for SFPD officers and tow trucks to arrive. One party involved was an Augustana student and there were no injuries reported. An incident report was completed.

- 9:07 AM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St.) Theft. Student reported his back pack was missing and that he is not positive exactly where he had left it the previous night. He was sure it was taken since someone had made an unauthorized purchase with his credit card which he has since cancelled. The CSO gave the student the phone number to file a police report and completed an incident report.
- 11:47 PM - Schoeneman Apartments (1417 W. 33rd St) Plumbing Problem. Student reported a clogged and overflowing toilet that was flooding the apartment below. CSOs called MOC and was advised to turnoff the water to the toilet, and submit a maintenance request and it will be fixed on Monday. An incident report was completed.
- 12:20 PM - Granskou Hall, (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Cyber Crime. Student reported receiving an e-mail demanding a large payment in bitcoin or all of his information and compromising videos of him would be sent to all of his contacts. He was advised not to respond to the e-mail and to talk to the campus IT people at the Help Desk on Monday. CSO called SFPD but was advised they would not be responding. An incident report was completed.
- 1:38 PM - Granskou Hall, East Parking Lot (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Vehicle Collision. Student was backing out of a parking space when he thought it was clear, just as another vehicle was passing behind it. The student driving the other vehicle tried to swerve around the backing SUV, but the rear of vehicle #1 hit the right side of vehicle #2. There were no injuries and an SFPD officer responded to issue red tags. An incident report was completed.

Since she had been suffering from these symptoms since 11:00 AM she decided to go to urgent care and her friends accompanied her. An incident report was completed.

- 7:43 PM - Granskou Hall (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Smoking Violation. VA reported the odor of cigarette smoke on the 6th floor, possibly coming from the stairwell. - 11:13 AM - Midco Arena, East Parking Lot (2510 S. Grange Ave) Property Damage. Student reported while his vehicle was parked in a marked space in the lot, the front passenger door was damaged. When he parked, he noticed the vehicle in the adjacent spot was right on the edge of the marked space. CSO recorded his information and upon review of security video of the lot, saw that the vehicle in question was not moved the entire time the student's vehicle was parked there so the damage had to have occurred at another time and location. - 3:05 PM - Our Savior's Lutheran Church (909 W. 33rd St) Trespassing. CSOs responded to a call from Church staff reporting an unwanted person in the facility. The individual had asked if she could take a shower and was told they did not have facilities for her to do so. She then started to wander around the library and asked if there were any books about genocide. Upon arrival they contacted the subject who refused to talk to them. She stated she was in a hurry as she gathered her belongings and left the building. This same individual has been escorted off campus in the past after using rest rooms to bathe in. - 1:58 PM - Fryxell Humanities Center, Parking Lot (2120 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Collision. Employee reported he had hit another parked vehicle while entering a marked space in the lot the previous evening at about 5:15 PM. The vehicle was occupied so he gave his driver license and vehicle information to the occupant who only identified herself by first name and said she would call him and then left campus in the vehicle. When she did not call, the employee decided to file a report. CSO contacted SFPD and an officer responded, for a report and to issue a red tag. An incident report was completed.
- 6:57 PM - Costello Hall (2413 S. Grange Ave) Safety Concern. Student reported a used Syringe on the ground outside the east entrance into the building. CSO responded and found the plastic body with no needle attached in the landscaping gravel between the front steps and the public sidewalk. It was apparent to the CSO that the syringe had been on the ground for some time based on the weathered and dirty condition it was in. He collected it and disposed of it in a sharps container. CSOs and the HDOC contacted a student in his room at the request of a concerned parent who had been calling him and had not been able to reach him. The student had simply overslept and did not hear his phone ringing. He contacted the parent in the presence of CSOs and there was no further cause for concern. An incident report was completed.
- 1:00 PM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium, West Parking Lot (2700 S. Lake Ave) Vehicle Theft. Student reported her vehicle had been removed from the lot without her permission or knowledge sometime between 11:00 PM, Wednesday 9/11/2024 and 1:00 PM Monday, 9/16/2024. An SFPD officer responded to fill out a police report. An incident report was completed.

- 5:15 AM - Soleberg Hall Parking Lot (2312 S. Grange Ave) Alcohol Violation. While on patrol, CSOs contacted two individuals who were staggering on the sidewalk in front of Bergsaker Hall. They said they were heading home about two block past Grange Avenue and were allowed to continue on their way. Instead of crossing Grange, they turned n/b and then entered the Soleberg Hall parking lot. CSOs recontacted the subjects at which time they said they were students and resided in the residence hall. HDOC was called and responded and both students were administered PBT alcohol screenings. They were escorted to their room and an incident report was completed.

- 10:00 AM - Various Locations Around Campus. Harassment. Student came in to the Campus Safety Office to report he does not feel safe on campus. He stated he had been a member of the football team until August 24, 2024 when he quit do to being the victim of harassment and racism. He posted on social media about his feelings and now thinks other students have made threats against him. An incident report was completed.
- 8:43 PM - Wagoner Hall (2300 S. Grange Ave) Fire Alarm. CSOs responded to a full activation of the alarm at the residence hall. Upon arrival students were already evacuating the building. SFFR responded and checked the dorm and found the alarm activation was caused by students overcooking some food in the kitchen area. They reset the alarm and cleared the scene. An incident report was completed.
- 9:55 PM - Balcer Apartments (2420 S. Summit Ave) Wellness Check. Students called the Campus Safety office to regain entry into their apartment after they had briefly stepped out without their keys and their roommate locked the door. They tried knocking on the apartment door but he apparently did not hear them. He had been very upset when they last saw him and requested a wellness check at the same time. CSOs and the HDOC responded, unlocked the door and made contact with the roommate who stated he suffers from an anxiety and panic attack disorder and was having a bad day. He stated he had no intentions to harm himself or others and just had to deal with his issues. He stated he has been in therapy and taking medication for a number of years and was doing better now than several years ago. Once they determined he had taken his medication and was not at risk the CSOs and HDOC cleared the scene. An incident report was completed.

- 1:20 PM - Hit & Run Collision. Staff member reported his parked vehicle had been hit by another vehicle and the driver left without contacting him, Campus Safety or SFPD or leaving a note. While CSO was on scene investigating the incident, the individual who hit the vehicle returned and admitted he had left the scene because he was scared but returned to do the right thing. An SFPD officer responded and issued red tags to both parties to get their vehicles repaired and facilitate the exchange of information. An incident report was completed.
- 11:15 PM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Roommate Issue. CSO was contacted by the parents of a student who was having problems with a roommate. The situation had already been reported to Student Affairs via e-mail, but they wanted to make sure the situation was properly documented in an official report. Until the student can be reassigned to another roommate, they were going to bring her home to Tea as they feel her current housing situation is not safe. An incident report was completed.

- 10:00 AM - Off Campus (1908 S. Menlo Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Student contacted the Campus Safety office to report she had witnessed a possible attempted abduction from her off campus residence the previous evening. She stated she was awakened at about 11:42 PM Sunday night by people yelling out on the street by a dark colored van. A female yelled for somebody to call the police and ran s/b toward the the Towers while the van drove away n/b on Menlo Ave. The student said she called the SFPD but nobody had contacted her or taken any further statement beyond her initial call. - 11:28 AM - Costello Hall (2413 S. Grange Ave) Fire. CSOs responded to a call reporting smoke in the building. Upon arrival they found the hallways were filled with thick smoke and began clearing all of the residents out. SFFR were notified and responded. They completed the evacuation and located the source of the smoke which was an overheating laundry drier on the second floor which they unplugged. Fire personnel attempted to reset the alarm but were advised it had not been activated in the Campus Safety office. They instructed CSOs to place the building on fire watch until the alarm is repaired. An incident report was completed.
- 5:45 PM - Viking Oasis (Pond East of Bergsaker Hall) Disorderly Conduct. While patrolling campus, CSOs came across several individuals at the pond. One subject was wearing waders and was in the water. They had apparently been operating radio controlled boats in the pond and had gotten them stuck in the middle and he was attempting to retrieve them. When asked for ID they refused to present any and basically ignored the instructions given by CSOs. An incident report was completed.

- 12:00 PM - East Hall (2001 S. Summit Ave) Property Damage. Student reported what appears to be dried urine on her window and screen. CSO photographed the area and smelled what appeared to be the odor of urine. An incident report was completed.
- 7:21 PM - Tuve Hall (Overflow Parking Lot) Hit & Run Collision. Student reported that some time after he parked his car in a marked space at about 9:30 AM and 7:20 PM an unknown vehicle had hit and damaged the right rear bumper and tail light. The driver failed to leave a note or contact him, Campus Safety or police. An SFPD officer responded and issued him a red tag to get his vehicle repaired. An incident report was completed.
- 10:54 PM - Off Campus (1815 S Norton Ave) Disorderly Conduct. CSOs responded to a request for assistance by SFPD officers who were breaking up a large party involving mostly or all Augustana University Students. For approximately the next hour, CSOs observed various groups of students staggering back to their residence halls with some running when the CSO approached. Several students also jumped into the Viking Oasis pond. CSOs obtained identification of some of the most obvious offenders for possible disciplinary action. An incident report was completed.

CSOs responded to a verbal altercation between a student volunteer and staff member, both of whom were working the Augustana University hosted Twilight Track Meet. - 10:30 PM - Granskou Hall (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Plumbing Issue. CSO responded to call of a sink overflowing in the 4th floor day room. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the sink was full of murky water that was coming up from the drain and overflowing. The counter was covered in water which was also coming out of the cabinet and saturating the carpet. MOC was notified and stated it would be taken care of the next day. CSO responded to assist an employee who had struck a parked vehicle in the lot while driving a University maintenance vehicle. - 1:30 PM - University Center (2100 S. Summit Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Employee reported an individual bathing in the main floor women's rest room. Student Affairs staff reported a television had been taken from the lobby area of the residence hall sometime between 7:30 PM and Midnight on Monday, September 2, 2024. A review of security footage showed the removal of the tv and also the return by the same student at 3:34 PM today. CSOs interviewed the student and he admitted that he had taken the tv and then returned it before he was contacted by Campus Safety. An incident report was completed.

At 2:58 in the afternoon, Campus Safety received a call from a student reporting that someone had attempted to enter her room at about 1:00 AM and again at around 2:45 AM. Upon arrival they found her having chest pain, bowel issues, and extremely red, irritated eyes. - 2:02 PM - Elmen Center (2505 S. Grange Ave) HVAC Problem/Medical Aid. CSOs responded to check on a report that the A/C was not working in the Gym. They confirmed it was not and called the HVAC Technician but he was out of town and unable to respond. Instead, he talked the CSOs through the shutdown and restart procedure over the phone and they were able to get the A/C back on line. In the meantime, the CSOs were advised that a student had suffered heat exhaustion and had been escorted back to her room. They checked on her and she stated she had not passed out but still had a headache. She did not wish any further medical attention and her roommate was with her if she developed any other symptoms. An incident report was completed.
- 9:00 PM - Campus Green. Medical Aid. CSO received a call at the Campus Safety office requesting a couple of ice packs for a student who sprained his ankle playing soccer on the Campus Green. Another student came by the office to pick up the packs for the injured student who had already returned to his room. An incident report was completed.
- 9:45 PM - Morrison Commons (2112 S. Grange Ave) Medical Aid. CSO heard a commotion outside the window of the Campus Safety office. when he looked out he saw a couple of students picking up a plastic trash can containing several dozen lengths of PVC pipes which had apparently fallen over. As they let go of the can, it immediately tipped right over again and the pipes hit one of the students in the head and arm, leaving a welt on her forehead. She did not want any medical attention but the CSO did give her an ice pack to minimize any swelling and to ease the pain. An incident report was completed.

Veh #1 pulled out of the Wagoner fire lane to turn s/b on Grange Ave. in front of veh #2 which was n/b on Grange Ave. Both parties declined further medical attention after initial evaluation by paramedics. - 9:30 AM - Solberg Hall (2312 S. Grange Ave) Water Leak. CSO responded to a call of a water leak in bathroom 144A. The leak was coming from the bathroom directly above it on the second floor. Maintenance on call responded and placed buckets to catch the leaking water until it can be fixed on Monday. An incident report and maintenance request were completed by the CSO.

- 12:31 PM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Malfunctioning Air Conditioner. Students reported the A/C unit in their room was leaking a large amount of water , soaking the carpet in their room. CSOs contacted maintenance staff who advised to shut off the unit and it would be repaired on Monday. CSOs completed a maintenance request and offered to make arrangements with the Hall Director On Call for an alternate temporary room assignment with working S/C but the students preferred to stay in their own room without A/C until it is fixed. A student advised CSOs of an anonymous post on the social media platform "Yik Yak" by an individual threatening to commit suicide and blaming an employee for their plan to take such action. While making a walk through check of the building, CSO discovered the water in a third floor sink was left running and had overflowed, seeping through the ceilings down to the basement. - 2:00 PM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Fire Alarm. CSOs responded to a fire alarm activation in the residence hall. Upon arrival, it was discovered that employees of the alarm company were working on the system in Granskou Hall and had somehow activated the alarm in Stavig. Walking through both buildings, CSOs were unable to locate any sign of fire or smoke and the alarms were reset. An incident report was Completed.
- 9:24 PM - Off Campus, N/S Alley West of Tuve Hall Overflow Lot. Theft. Anonymous calling party reported a male subject had taken some wooden pallets from the alley and walked away with them on a cart. CSOs made an area check for the subject but were unable to locate him. An incident report was completed.

- 7:17 PM - Madsen Social Science Center (2301 S. Summit Ave) Medical Aid. CSO responded to a call from an employee who had sliced open his finger in the course of his work assignment. He assisted the individual in cleaning and dressing the injury and cleared the scene when the employee's supervisor instructed him to have the wound properly cared for at a clinic. - 5:32 AM - Soleberg Hall Parking Lot (2312 S. Grange Ave) Possible Vehicle Collision. Student reported that while backing out of a parking spot she may have bumped another vehicle in the lot. CSO could not find any obvious fresh damage on either vehicle but completed an incident report for documentation purposes in case the owner of the other vehicle notices any new damage to their car.

Student reported that sometime between 8:00 PM on Wednesday, 7/31/2024 and 6:00 PM Thursday, 8/01/2024, unknown person(s) had keyed the side of his car while it was parked in the residence hall lot. - 9:38 AM - S/E Corner Sidewalk of West 33rd St. and South Prairie Avenue in front of Our Savior's Lutheran Church (909 W. 33rd St) Disorderly Conduct. Several children who were operating a stand selling water and flavor packets as a fund raiser, reported 4 subjects exited the Midco Arena and as they walked past, one kicked over a sign the children had put up advertising their stand. The individuals then crossed 33rd and walked into the interior of the campus. A review of video footage was obtained and one individual was tentatively identified. An incident report was completed.

- 10:13 AM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium (2700 S. Lake Ave) Suspicious Activity. CSO observed4 non-students apparently attempting to open the lock on the north gate of the field. When he made contact, they stated they were just checking out the area and started walking across the parking lot and off campus. An incident report was completed.
- 3:10 PM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium (2700 S. Lake Ave) Suspicious Vehicle. CSOs observed an occupied vehicle in the parking lot for 15-20 minutes. They could see movement in the vehicle but could not see how many people were inside or what they were doing. After a while, the vehicle pulled out of the lot and drove away. CSOs never made contact with the occupants. An incident report was completed.

- 6:57 AM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium (2700 S. Lake Ave) Trespass. While patrolling the area, CSO discovered an individual sleeping in the shed to the N/W of the stadium. He awakened the subject and inquired if she needed medical attention or other assistance which she declined. He then advised her she could not sleep there and she was cooperative and left the campus. An incident report was completed.
- 8:46 PM -Grange Ave, Across the Street From Fellows' President's House (2817 S. Grange Ave) Suspicious Subject. Employee residing in the residence notified Campus Safety of a subject sleeping in a vehicle across the street from the President's House. CSO responded and called SFPD who arrived and told the individual to leave the area which he did. An incident report was completed.

University employee who is staying at the residence reported finding a disconcerting note taped to the front door by an unknown person. She was advised to contact Campus Safety anytime she is concerned and an officer will escort her to the residence or do an area check to ensure her safety. An incident report was completed.
- 3:00 PM - Sioux Falls Seminary, Admissions Office (2100 S. Summit Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Employee reported a non-student had been loitering in the building over a two day period without any apparent legitimate business. An incident report was completed.

- 4:10 PM - Bergsaker Hall, Bike Rack North of Residence Hall (1110 W. 33rd St) Bicycle Theft. Student reported his bicycle missing from the bike rack where he had last parked it at about 10:00 PM on Friday July 12. He first noticed it missing on Sunday July 14. The student was unsure if he had secured his lock properly when he parked the bike and the chain was also missing from the bike rack. a review of security camera footage for the time period did not reveal anyone removing his bike from the area. - 2:38 PM - Soleberg Hall Parking Lot (2312 S. Grange Ave) Theft from Vehicle. Student reported the rear license plate had been removed from his vehicle while it was parked in the lot. While CSO was investigating, it was observed that 3 other vehicles in the lot were missing the rear license plates and a number of bolts of the type used to secure license were on the ground. SFPD were notified for theft reports to be filed. An incident report was completed.l

- 12:57 AM - Nelsen Apartments (2320 S. Summit Ave) Safety Issue. While reviewing security camera footage, CSOs had observed a group of students gathered around a BBQ grill on the east side of the apartments. While making their rounds they looked at the grill and located a student ID hidden under a side burner for non residents to gain access to the residence hall via the nearby magnetic lock controlled entrance door. Since this endangers the safety of residents and property, the CSOs confiscated the ID card and completed an incident report.
- 2:15 PM - Nelsen Apartments (2320 S. Summit Ave) Safety Issue. While making his rounds, a CSO looked at the grill near the east entrance where an ID card had been found earlier and located another student ID hidden in the grill. Since this endangers the safety of residents and property, the CSO confiscated the ID card and completed an incident report.
- 10:20 PM - Campus Green. Disorderly Conduct. CSO observed subjects setting off fireworks on campus. As he approached in the marked, Campus Safety Vehicle, four individuals fled on foot. He was able to catch, and make contact with two of the male subjects who claimed to be Students at USF but provided no ID. CSO advised the individuals to leave campus. - 7:40 PM - Nelsen Apartments (2320 S. Summit Ave) Safety Issue. CSO observed a subject lifting and repositioning a rug in the vestibule of the apartment building before entering the main hallway. He entered the area after the student left, and found a student ID card hidden under it. With the ID, any unauthorized person can gain entry into the residence hall threatening the well being of the residents and the property so the CSO confiscated the ID card. After contacting the reporting party and seeing the victim was unresponsive, CSOs requested Paramedics who transported the subject to Sanford Hospital for evaluation and treatment. An incident report was completed.
- 10:11 PM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St) Wellness Check. Family members were unable to contact an occupant of a room in the residence hall and requested a welfare check. CSOs and the HDOC checked her room but she was not there. After talking to her room mate and other residents, one of them received a call from the subject who advised she was fine. - 7:58 AM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St) Disorderly Conduct. A staff member reported a security concern to a CSO as he was conducting a walk through of the residence hall. On several occasions, he had observed a student gain entry by pulling hard on the locked entrance door without using a student ID to activate the electronic lock and he was afraid this would eventually result in the mechanism being broken. The student was identified via security camera footage and confirmed by the staff member. An incident report was completed.

- 1:35 PM - Froiland Science Center (2407 S. Summit Ave) Medical Aid. CSO was flagged down by a non-student on the public sidewalk adjacent to campus. The subject was suffering from the effects of an unknown drug and requested medical assistance. SFPD and Medics were contacted and responded. - 2:00 PM - Costello Hall Parking Lot (2413 S. Grange Ave) Trespass. Student reported a man refusing to exit her vehicle. She had allowed the elderly subject to sit in her car to rest but when she asked him to leave the vehicle he would not do so. CSO responded and notified the SFPD since it appeared the subject might be intoxicated or have a medical issue. Police spoke with him and the man left when asked to do so. - 1:03 AM - Tuve Hall (2016 S. Menlo Ave) Fire Alarm. CSO responded to a fire alarm in the residence hall where the alarm panel indicated the source of the activation was the third level, zone 4. SFFR arrived and upon checking, found no sign of fire. Fire personnel reset the alarm panel and cleared the scene. An incident report was completed.

- 4:15 AM - Solberg Hall Parking Lot (2312 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Theft. Student reported someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and removed it from the parking lot without his permission. In addition to not locking his doors, the student had left the keys in the center console of the vehicle. The student was instructed to file a stolen vehicle report with SFPD and an incident report was completed.
- 5:15 PM - Balcer Apartments, Parking Lot (2420 S. Summit Ave) Vehicle Damage. Student reported he had just returned to campus after a 2 week absence and found the passenger side mirror of his vehicle had been broken off the mount. A review of security camera footage revealed the damage was caused by severe wind and weather that had occurred on 6/17/24 at about 1:05 AM. An incident report was completed.

Student reported receiving a racist and foul note taped to the door of his room because he was apparently playing music too loud for someones liking. CSOs were notified by Sioux Falls Metro Communications that an ambulance was en-route to a call on campus and medics would have to be let into the residence hall. They met the medics and escorted them to the student's room where they conducted a preliminary examination. Medics determined the student should be transported via ambulance to Avera hospital for further evaluation and medical treatment. An incident report was completed.

- 10:30 AM - North Sidewalk of 33rd St. (between Bergsaker Hall and Froiland Science Center) Disorderly Conduct. CSO was stopped in the golf cart waiting for a break in traffic to cross 33rd St. to make a patrol check of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. As a vehicle drove by, an occupant threw an egg at the officer and it hit the roof of the golf cart without hitting him or causing any damage. An incident report was completed.

- 7:38 AM - Valhalla House (1923 S. Prairie Ave) Fire Alarm. CSO received notification of a fire alarm activation over the Campus Safety cell phone. CSOs evacuated the two occupants of the building who were awakened by the alarm and SFFR responded. They checked the building and could find no cause for the alarm activation. SFFR reset the alarm panel and cleared the scene. An incident report was completed.

- 3:21 PM - Morrison Commons, Commons Drive Loop (2112 S. Grange Ave) Traffic Collision. Student reported witnessing a vehicle back up and bump a parked vehicle and the driver left after looking at the bumpers of the two vehicles. The owner of the parked vehicle responded and advised there was no damage to his car and did not wish SFPD to be contacted. An incident report was completed.
- 6:05 PM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St) Theft. Student reported she had paid for a Door-Dash food delivery and had received a text informing her it had been left inside the vestibule of the residence hall. When she walked down to pick up the food it was not there. A friend had received a delivery at the same time from a different fast food establishment and driver and it was present. CSO reviewed security camera footage and saw that the two deliveries were made at the same time and both vehicles pulled away from the building and drove away simultaneously. The driver who had delivered the food which turned up missing turned right on 33rd and the other delivery vehicle turned left and immediately turned back into the residence hall driveway. The driver exited his vehicle, entered the vestibule and came back out a moment later carrying a fast food bag. CSO gave this information to the student to follow up with Door-Dash or SFPD. An incident report was completed.

- 10:05 Elmen Center (2505 S. Grange Ave) Medical Aid. CSOs responded to an alert from Zuercher system on the cell phone of an occurrence in the parking lot. Upon their arrival an elderly woman was being placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance by medics. An SFPD officer was present and the woman's husband told CSOs she had opened or closed the tailgate of their SUV, twisted her hip and fallen down. She was transported by ambulance to Sanford Hospital. An incident report was completed.

They attempted to reset the circuit breaker for the room but were not successful. - 4:40 PM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium (2700 S. Lake Ave) Burglary. While making a patrol check of the stadium, CSO found an unauthorized subject inside the gate. When he confronted her she became argumentative and exited the stadium. As she started walking away the individual said she had taken property from inside the building. SFPD was called and located the suspect at 29th St. and Grange Ave. CSO had checked the stadium floor by floor and saw that some of the suites had been rummaged through. He responded to where the police had the subject detained, positively identified her and she was officially trespassed and arrested for burglary. An incident report was completed.

- 1:00 PM - Administration Building (2101 S.. Summit Ave) Vandalism. Staff member reported a window on the third floor of the building had been broken. No witnesses or evidence of when or by whom the window was broken has been located. A maintenance work order was submitted to have it repaired. An incident report was completed.
- 8:34 PM - Granskou Hall (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Welfare Check. Student reported loud crying from a room in the residence hall. A CSO and the HDOC located the room and a female answered the door when they knocked. She was talking on the phone and had obviously been crying, for which she apologized stating she had recently lost someone. When asked if she wanted to talk about whatever was upsetting her or if she wanted to take advantage of any of the counseling resources available she declined.

- 7:05 PM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St) Medical Aid. Student reported she had cut her finger on the sharp edge of a can in the kitchen of the residence hall. The laceration appeared to be relatively minor and had stopped bleeding prior to the arrival of a CSO. An adhesive bandage was applied and no further medical treatment was required. An incident report was completed.
- 7:10 PM - Off Campus (Grange Ave. between 31st St. and 37th St.) Possible Abduction. CSO was flagged down by residents of a house on Grange Avenue across the street from campus. They reported two male subjects appeared to be walking a female s/b on the sidewalk against her will. The CSO drove further south and located the subjects. The female said the males were going to force her to have sex with them and asked the CSO to call the police which he relayed to the dispatcher. One of the subjects then ran s/b and the CSO followed him and was able to assist SFPD officers locate him when they arrived a short time later. No students or staff were involved. An incident report was completed.

- 2:48 AM - Global Education House (2001 S. Norton Ave) Property Damage. While walking through on patrol, CSO discovered a window in the n/e vestibule was broken. There was no indication of when, how, or by whom it had been broken. A maintenance report requesting replacement was submitted. An incident report was completed.
- 9:55 AM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium (2700 S. Lake Ave) Medical Aid. While working the graduation ceremony, CSOs responded to a report of a guest who had fallen near gate C. Two other spectators that are EMTs were looking after the individual when CSOs arrived and he did not request any further treatment beyond a couple of bandages for a laceration and a small abrasion, which the CSOs provided. The individual then went into the stands and found his seat. An incident report was completed.
- 11:15 PM - Administration Building (2101 S.. Summit Ave) Water Leak. CSO unlocked the building to let in an employee to service malfunctioning IT equipment. Upon entering the cable room they saw there was water leaking down from the ceiling. Upon checking they found the leak was from the water heater on the third floor and called for the Maintenance on Call to respond to address the leak. An incident report was completed.

- 3:10 PM - Morrison Commons, West Sidewalk (2112 S. Grange Ave) Medical Assist. A non-student visitor to the campus reported she had tripped over the base of a metal barricade that was set up next to the s/w corner of the building to cordon off construction equipment storage. She stated she fell scraping her arm and scratching her eye glasses. The subject declined medical treatment and was given some bandages which she applied to the wound on her arm. CSO photographed the injury, the damage to her glasses and the barricade she had tripped on. An incident report was completed.

- 12:15 AM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St) Disorderly Conduct. CSOs observed a crowd of students gathered on the grass on the east side of the residence hall watching the area of the pond. As they exited their patrol vehicle they saw several students get out of the pond an run toward Wagoner Hall. CSOs yelled for them to stop but they ignored the command and ran into the residence hall. An incident report was completed.

- 9:02 PM - Midco Arena (2510 S. Grange Ave) Disorderly Conduct. CSOs observed an individual who was sitting on the west steps into the building with his shoe and sock off for several minutes. Since he did not appear to be a student and was making no effort to leave, they made contact with him and advised that he was on private property and would have to move on. He immediately got belligerent, accused the CSOs of being racist and called SFPD to report them. An officer returned his call and advised the subject the Arena is private property and he should leave before the CSOs have him arrested for trespassing. He then started walking away on the city sidewalk without any further problem. An incident report was completed.

- 8:15 AM - Wagoner Hall (2300 S. Grange Ave) Disorderly Conduct. CSOs responded to a call of a possible argument in the 1st floor lounge area of the residence hall that had been reported by an unknown student. Upon their arrival all was quiet an there was no sign of trouble. They contacted a staff member who they saw working and she said the report had probably been about her as she had been upset by some personal issues that were bothering her. To get it off her chest, she had been imagining those who had wronged her were sitting there and she was telling them off and got carried away. CSOs talked with the staff member and saw that she had calmed down and was able to continue her work. They advised her to call Campus Safety if she needed to talk in the future and left the scene. CSOs were dispatched to a call of a male subject making students uncomfortable. they contacted him and he confirmed he was not an Augustana Student and had no reason to be on campus. They asked him to leave which he did after making disparaging remarks about the CSOs and Augie students. An incident report was completed.

- 2:31 AM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Destruction of University Property. CSOs responded to a report of items being thrown out of a 7th floor window on the east side of the residence hall. The calling party had not given her name and had not seen who was throwing the items from the floor above . CSOs did not locate anyone in the area of 7th floor day room where the screen had been torn out of the window and several chairs were missing. The chairs and some broken beer bottles were found on the concrete deck below and the air conditioner chiller unit was damaged by the impacts from the items thrown. This knocked out the air conditioning for the entire 8 floor facility until it can be repaired. An incident report was completed.
- 5:04 PM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Fire Safety Violation. Student reported finding a partially burned cardboard box on the 3rd floor landing of the emergency exit stairwell. CSO responded, took photographs of the scene, and removed the box to the trash dumpster. No suspects were located. An incident report was completed.

- 1:50 AM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Wellness Check. CSOs and HDOC responded to an anonymous report of a student suffering from emotional issues who might be "cutting" herself. The student was visibly distraught and readily admitted to having difficulty coping with some personal and school related issues, but denied any intention of self harm. She pulled up her sleeves showing there were no injuries and a look around the room revealed no cutting instruments in view. The student related she has been receiving help from the campus mental health specialist and Avera Behavioral Health. CSOs and the HDOC determined there was no immediate danger and cleared the scene with a suggestion of follow up with those resources. An incident report was completed.

- 9:25 AM - Administration Building, Registrars Office (2101 S. Summit Ave) Disorderly Conduct. CSOs were called to the office for a report of a suspicious individual who had been inquiring about attending the University and made personnel uncomfortable. After hearing a description of the subject, CSO showed a photo of a person from an encounter several days earlier and it was confirmed to be the same individual. CSOs then looked around campus and located him in the library using a computer provided for the exclusive use of students. They asked him to step outside with them and he complied. CSOs instructed him not to return to campus unless he is contacted by the Registrar's Office and accepted as a student or he would be trespassed. He then left campus. - 8:00 PM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Burglary. Student reported the current boyfriend of his former girlfriend had been making threats against him through social media sites from out of state. Today he is in Sioux Falls and came to campus, was let into the residence hall by a student who did not know the individual, entered the students unlocked room while he was out and left a threatening note. SFPD officers responded and took a crime report for burglary and advised the student they were going to attempt to arrest the suspect at the motel he is staying at in town. - 12:39 AM - Off Campus (S/W corner of 33rd St. & Summit Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Several female students flagged down a patrolling CSO and reported they had been approached by an individual (non-student) requesting sex. CSO located the extremely intoxicated subject and called SFPD. A unit responded and the subject was taken into custody for detox. An incident report was completed.
- 9:55 AM - O'Gorman High School Athletic Field (3201 S. Kiwanis Ave) Intentional Damage to Property. CSO received a call from an SFPD officer requesting the identity of the student who had been issued a parking permit. The permit was on a vehicle that had become stuck and abandoned in a marshy area on the high school campus. Prior to being immobilized, the vehicle had torn up the artificial turf of a practice football field, driven through three separate fences and destroyed a team bench. The student was identified and interviewed by a CSO and police who then arrested him on felony charges. An incident report was completed.
- 1:29 PM - Bergsaker Hall, Lawn on S/W Corner (1110 W. 33rd St) Disorderly Person. CSOs responded to a report of a non-student on campus. They found some abandoned property in the area of the University Marquis which they collected and put in storage for safekeeping. Later an individual approached CSOs requesting his property. He was advised he could not be on campus and, after they returned his property, he agreed to leave. An incident report was completed.
- 6:06 PM - Granskou Hall, (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Smoking/Fire Safety Violations. CSO responded to a call of a strong odor of cigarette smoke in the residence hall corridor. It was particularly heavy in the area of two rooms. They made contact with the student in one room and he confirmed he smoked but denied doing so in his room, stating he always goes across the street to do so. While talking to him a CSO observed a candle in plain sight and advised the student to dispose of it since it is a violation of fire safety code and school policy. The student agreed to do so and the CSOs cleared the call. An incident report was completed.
- 10:30 PM - Wagoner Hall (2300 S. Grange Ave) Trespass. CSOs responded to a call of a subject in the residence hall who did not appear to be a student. Upon contact, she said she is an Augustana student but does not have a student ID card and refuses to show CSOs any form of ID or even tell them her name. CSO advised she would be charged with criminal trespass if she returns to campus without a legitimate reason. The women appears to be in her thirties and left upon being instructed to do so. The same individual has been found sleeping in the Back Alley area of the Commons on prior occasions and has immediately left without identifying herself when contacted by CSOs. - 5:50 PM - Wagoner Hall, North Fire Door (2300 S. Grange Ave) Safety Violation. CSO observed student prop open the fire door to the alley north of the residence hall by placing a rock in the door jamb, preventing the door from closing completely and the lock from engaging. This has become a common practice to avoid having to walk to another door and leaves the building vulnerable to entry by non-students who have no legitimate purpose to enter. It endangers the safety of all residents persons and property. The CSO attempted to contact the student but he was unable to see where she went in the building. Student was identified via Buzz Book and an incident report was completed.

- 9:59 PM - Costello Hall (2413 S. Grange Ave) Welfare Check. CSOs and HDOC responded to a call of a student who might be contemplating self harm. They contacted the student who was visibly upset and admitted to being overwhelmed by her schoolwork. She further stated she has thought of harming herself but was receptive to the suggestion of voluntarily going to Avera Behavioral Health. CSO transported her and a friend for support to Avera. - 2:30 AM - Solberg Hall (2312 S. Grange Ave) Alcohol violation. While on patrol officers observed students with alcohol in their room. Officers questioned students and confiscated the alcohol then disposed of it. Incident report was completed.

Upon checking, he discovered it had 7 prior parking violations and had been issued a tow warning that any further violation would result in the vehicle being towed. - 11:10 AM - Chapel of Reconciliation (2125 S. Summit Ave) Disorderly Conduct. CSO’s responded to a call of a subject asking for food outside of the Chapel. The area was searched and the subject was found inside the library. Subject left the library and CSO’s confronted the individual outside. The subject was identified and he denied asking for food and said he was just looking to apply for schooling. CSO’ observed the subject enter the Welcome Center and then shortly leave the building and Augustana property. An incident report was completed.
- 11:54 PM - Granskou Hall (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Marijuana Violation. Student reported a subject that smelled of marijuana on the 8th floor. When CSO’s arrived the RP said a male had already left the area but CSO’s could still smell the strong odor of marijuana in the area. The subject was not located. An incident report was completed.

- 7:18 PM - Granskou Hall (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Smoking Violation. CSO responded to the 7th floor of of the residence hall for a report of cigarette smell. CSO could smell the smoke in the corridor between rooms 711 and 708 but was not able to pinpoint the exact location the smell was coming from. Cigarette butts were found in the fire exit. - 3:15 PM - Fryxell Humanities Center, South Alleyway (2120 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Collision. CSO witnessed a vehicle back up in the alley until it hit a yellow pole bending it sideways. The CSO contacted the driver and obtained her license, registration and insurance information and an SFPD officer responded and issued a red tag. An incident report was completed.

- 12:04 PM - Online Platform (YIK YAK) Disorderly Conduct. Students reported several concerning posts on the Yik Yak social media platform. One of the posts mentioned a student had attempted suicide because of the Turning Point organization. The student in question was identified and officers made contact. It was found that the student had already spoken with the University mental health counselor and the Dean of Students and was determine to be safe for now. An incident report was completed.
- 2:14 PM - Administration Building. (2101 S. Summit Ave) Information. It was reported to Campus Safety that the Admissions Office had received an anonymous email which contained graphic images. The email made reference to an incoming student for the coming fall semester and some concerning allegations about messages that this student may have made. An incident report was completed.

- 3:15 AM - Balcer Apartments, Parking Lot (2420 S. Summit Ave) Criminal Entry Into Vehicle. Student reported unknown person(s) had entered her vehicle without permission and rummaged through the glove compartment and center console. They removed an old purse from the vehicle but threw it on the ground when they discovered there was nothing in it. The vehicle had not been locked prior to the entry based on video footage of the suspects trying the door handles on all of the parked vehicles until finding this one that opened. An incident report was completed.
- 3:15 AM - Nelsen Apartments (2320 S. Summit Ave) Criminal Entry Into Vehicle. Student reported unknown person(s) had entered her vehicle without permission and rummaged through the glove compartment and center console. The owner said she heard the locks open when she activated the FOB but video footage shows the suspects trying the doors along Summit until they located one that opened. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle. An incident report was completed.
- 12:15 PM - Schoeneman Apartments, Parking Lot (11-1419 W. 33rd St) Property Damage. Student reported that the windshield of her vehicle was hit by a baseball and broken while parked in her assigned parking area for her apartment, adjacent to the baseball field. Team members had notified her of the damage. An incident report was completed.

- 7:09 AM - Stavig Hall (2008 S. Walts Ave) Elevator Malfunction. CSOs responded to the residence hall after a city wide power outage left a student trapped in an elevator. After confirming the student was stuck on the first floor and was not hurt or in distress, SFFR was called and responded. Upon their arrival, Fire Fighters manually opened the elevator doors and extricated the student. When power was restored shortly afterward, they reset the elevator, insured it was functioning properly and cleared the scene by 7:45 AM. An incident report was completed.

- 2:16 AM - Morrison Commons, Campus Green (2112 S. Grange Ave) Disorderly Conduct. Student reported several students had deliberately walked through a pro-life display knocking down a large portion of the display because they did not agree with the message and are intolerant of opinions contrary to those they hold. The pro-life group had prior approval for the display. The suspect students have been identified through video footage. An incident report was completed.
- 8:35 PM - Bergsaker Hall (1110 W. 33rd St) Alcohol Violation. Student reported seeing a social media post showing alcoholic beverages in another students room. CSOs and the HDOC responded and saw two bottles of Mike's Hard Lemonade on a table in the room. The student in the residence hall stated the alcohol belongs to his roommate who was not present and there was no indication that the student who was in the room had been drinking. The alcohol was confiscated and an incident report was completed.
- 9:30 PM - Chapel of Reconciliation (2125 S. Summit Ave) Property Damage. Two students came into the Campus Safety office to report they had accidentally broken a window in the chapel. The students said they had been hitting golf balls on the campus green when one landed on the concrete sidewalk and bounced up, hitting and breaking the window. CSO filled out a maintenance request to get the window repaired. An incident report was completed.

- 9:18 AM - Bergsaker Hall, Fire Lane Loop (1110 W. 33rd St) Vehicle Tow. CSO observed a vehicle parked in the posted fire lane, no parking zone on the driveway in front of the residence hall. Jim & Ron's Towing called and removed the vehicle from campus. An incident report was completed.
- 10:07 PM - Stavig Hall, Driveway Loop (2008 S. Walts Ave) Vandalism. A USF student parked her vehicle in the loop while she visited with a friend who resides in Stavig Hall. When she returned to her vehicle she discovered there were scratches across the hood of her vehicle that had not been present when she parked it. The only reason she could think this would happen is that she has a USF parking permit on the vehicle. An incident report was completed.

- 12:15 PM - Granskou Hall, Laundry Room (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Maintenance Issue. Student reported a malfunctioning washing machine in the residence hall laundry room. She stated she had placed her clothes and detergent in the machine and started it. As she turned it on, there was a flash of light behind the machine and she smelled the odor of burnt plastic. CSOs unplugged the machine and placed an "out of order" sign on it. They instructed the student to remove her laundry from the machine and use one of the other washers. A maintenance request was submitted and an incident report was completed.
- 10:37 PM Midco Arena, Parking Lot (2510 S. Grange Ave) Suspicious Activity. Employee reported he was sitting in his parked vehicle in the parking lot when two individuals wearing ski masks ran directly toward his vehicle. As he tried to drive around them to exit the lot, they continued to run into the path of his vehicle forcing him to brake and try to maneuver around them. After blocking the employee from leaving for a short time, a friend drove up, they jumped into her car and left the area. By reviewing security camera footage from Bergsaker Hall CSOs were able to identify the subjects before they put the masks on and walked over to the parking lot. An incident report was completed.

- 10:05 AM - Midco Arena (2510 S. Grange Ave) Found Property. Employee reported an abandoned bicycle in a planter box on the west side of the hockey stadium. CSOs found the dismantled bike broken down into three parts consisting of the frame, front wheel, and handlebar. There was nothing to indicate ownership of the bicycle so they removed it and placed it in secure storage to be returned should someone claim it. An incident report was completed.

- 6:06 PM - Our Savior's Lutheran Church (909 W. 33rd St) Welfare Check. CSOs responded to a call from church staff reporting a juvenile who had come to them seeking help. The subject said he was afraid to go home since his family was accusing him of stealing some money and his 18 year old sister had slapped him. CSO contacted SFPD and officers responded and took custody of the juvenile. An incident report was completed.

- 6:27 AM - Nelsen Apartments (2320 S. Summit Ave) Theft From Vehicle/Firearms Violation. CSO was contacted by an SFPD officer requesting any security camera footage that shows suspect(s) entering a vehicle parked behind the apartments the previous evening. A firearm that had been left in plain sight in the unlocked vehicle, in violation of university policy, was stolen. CSOs reviewed the video and saw the theft had occurred at approximately 5:02 AM and provided copies to police. The student reported he had left the firearm in a gun case on the back seat of his Nissan Altima because he was planning to go to the pistol range. An incident report was completed.

- 3:59 AM - Solberg Hall Parking Lot (2312 S. Grange Ave) Vehicle Tow. CSO observed a vehicle with an improper parking permit in the lot. Upon checking, he discovered it had 11 prior parking violations and had been issued a tow warning that any further violation would result in the vehicle being towed. Jim & Ron's Towing was not available so Lightning Towing arrived and removed the vehicle from campus. An incident report was completed.
- 7:45 AM Baseball/Softball Complex (2812 S. Lake Ave) Suspicious Activity Student reported she had been walking near the field when a blue vehicle had stopped next to her and an occupant had rolled down the window and yelled something to her that she did not understand. She continued to walk and the vehicle pulled up adjacent to her a second time and stopped before driving away. The only description she could give is that the car had a "messed up bumper" and the two occupants were wearing masks. CSOs were unable to locate the vehicle on or near the campus. An incident report was completed.
- 10:20 PM - Morrison Commons (2112 S. Grange Ave) Interference with Wildlife. CSOs received a report that two students had captured a couple of baby wild rabbits outside of the building and had brought them to their residence hall. They made contact with the students who were in possession of the rabbits and had them return and release them where they had captured them. An incident report was completed.

- 1:55 PM - Froiland Science Center (2407 S. Summit Ave) Alcohol Violation. While walking through the building, CSOs saw a couple of unattended bags containing 3 bottles of wine at the base of a steel support beam in the hallway. They brought the wine to the Campus Safety office and reviewed security camera footage to identify who had left it. CSOs were able to identify the responsible party as an instructor and contacted him. He stated he had brought the wine for a celebration at the conclusion of a research symposium and then realized he did not have his keys to secure the alcohol in a room. The wine was returned to the professor. An incident report was completed.
- 11:30 PM - Morrison Commons, Motorcycle Parking Area (2112 S. Grange Ave) Theft. Staff member reported unknown person(s) had taken a black Harley Davidson hoodie sweatshirt from inside one of the saddlebags of his motorcycle while it was parked in the designated area on the west side of the building. There was also several items of trash left on his bike. including smoothie cups. After a review of security camera footage, CSOs were able to identify a group of students who had been carrying smoothies when they were approaching the area and no longer had them as they walked away. Thy were identified and contacted and immediately admitted to leaving the trash on the motorcycle as a joke, thinking it was their friends bike, but denied opening the saddlebags or taking anything from the bike. - 6:05 PM - Granskou Hall, Parking Lot (2009 S. Prairie Ave) Vehicle Damage. Student reported new damage to her vehicle in the form a scrape and white vertical paint transfer on the passenger side as well as the right side mirror being collapsed against the side of the car. Upon inspection by CSOs and SFPD it appeared the marks were probably the result of a door being opened and hitting the side of her vehicle rather than a hit and run. A police report was not filed but the officer did issue a red tag so the student could get the damage repaired. An incident report was completed.

- 8:30 AM - Morrison Commons, Ordal Dining Hall (2112 S. Grange Ave) Trespassers. SODEXO employee reported a former employee and several other individuals had been seen on the premises on several occasions. Campus Safety had not been notified anytime they were present and were only advised of this on Saturday 4/7/2024. It was reported that the former employee walks through the kitchen and dining hall complex unlocking and propping open doors after staff have locked them up for the evening. Nothing has been reported to be missing or damaged at this time. An incident report was completed.

- 2:19 PM - Wagoner Hall N/E Bike Rack (2300 S. Grange Ave) Bicycle Theft. Student reported the cable lock had been broken and his bike had been stolen. A review of security camera footage showed a male subject had approached the bike at about 12:20 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, broke the lock and stole the bike. An incident report was completed.
- 7:15 PM - Costello Hall (2413 S. Grange Ave) Plumbing Issue. Student reported their sink was overflowing and water was dripping down through a ceiling light fixture in his apartment. Maintenance on Call was notified and responded. While waiting for his arrival CSOs checked the apartment above and discovered it was also flooding. After checking the problem ot the maintenance worker called for Roto-Rooter and they responded and cleared the clogged drains that were causing the problem. An incident report was completed.

Employee reported a coaxial cable had broken and the loose end was hanging down within 5' of the ground where someone could easily reach it. It has been severed for several weeks but is hanging much lower than it had been. The various local cable companies had been contacted but had not responded. They will be recontacted by Augustana maintenance staff. An incident report was completed.

- 4:04 PM - Wagoner Hall (2300 S. Grange Ave) Wellness Check. CSOs responded to a 911 call from Sioux Falls Metro, placed by Sioux Falls Psychological Services regarding a student. A counselor had been talking to the student who was possibly having suicidal thoughts when the student hung up the phone. CSOs and the HDOC responded to the students room at the residence hall and SFPD officers also responded. It was determined the student was frustrated with her school work but is not planning to harm herself. She will continue with her counseling and try to deal better with her situation. An incident report was completed.
