The Augustana University Art Department supports a community of artists who are passionate about their work and eager to help others develop. Expert faculty work alongside students in state-of-the-art facilities across disciplines of art education, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture.

With its changing exhibitions of visiting artists and 4,000+ object permanent art collection, the Augustana Eide/Dalrymple Gallery provides many professional opportunities for students, with an opportunity to exhibit their work in Summer Invitationals and the Senior Show. The gallery also provides scholarship opportunities and paid work-study positions, where students gain important skills for future art careers.

The Augustana University Eide/Dalrymple Gallery presents “The Beauty of the Mundane: Paintings by Mike Murray,” which will be on view beginning on Friday, Nov. 14, through Wednesday, Dec. 10. A gallery reception, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, from 7-9 p.m., with an artist talk at 7:30 p.m. in the Fryxell Humanities Center Room 123.

The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at Augustana University is presenting “Shrines and Portals: Darrel Nelson,” an exhibition of assemblage sculptures by one of South Dakota’s most distinguished sculptors. The exhibit is on view through Thursday, Nov. 6, with a closing reception on Nov. 6 and free public artist talk the same evening at 7:30 p.m.

“The Augustana Student Invitational” is on view at the Augustana University Eide/Dalrymple Gallery through Friday, Sept. 5. A closing gallery reception will take place on Sept. 5, from 7-9 p.m.
