Department: Applied Behavior Analysis Program Within the Sharon Lust School of Education

The School of Education at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Behavior Analysis beginning in August 2025. This faculty member will become a member of the faculty in the Applied Behavior Analysis program within the Sharon Lust School of Education. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

This faculty member will be responsible for teaching asynchronous online courses in our Master of Science: Applied Behavior Analysis program (teaching load of five to six courses per year).  Successful applicants will demonstrate strong commitment to student-centered teaching excellence within the context of the liberal arts. 

The Applied Behavior Analysis program consists of ABAI Verified Course Sequences aligned with concurrently-offered fieldwork experience courses. In addition to teaching courses, this faculty member would have responsibilities in advising, online supervision of ABA fieldwork experiences, and oversight of single-case design research projects in the ABA program, as well as service and professional development expectations.

Qualifications:

Qualifications for this position include an earned doctorate in behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or a closely related field and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field of behavior analysis. It will also be important for this faculty to hold current Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst at the Doctoral level (BCBA-D) and either hold a current license in South Dakota, or express willingness to seek that prior to the start date. Other important qualifications include: experience, commitment, and excellence in teaching and mentorship; willingness to conduct research in the field; vision, energy, and creativity for contributing to building and maintaining a high-quality master’s program in Applied Behavior Analysis.  Candidates with prior experience in online instruction in higher education are preferred.

Position Title: Assistant Professor of Exercise & Sport Sciences

Augustana University seeks to fill a full-time Assistant Professor of Exercise Science in the Department of Exercise & Sport Sciences. This position has a possibility for tenure-track. This is a growing department serving more than 200 majors in Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, Fitness Management, Physical Education, and Health Education. Excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with educational partners, health care agencies, and research centers in the Sioux Falls area.  

Qualifications: 

Qualified candidates will possess an earned doctorate in the field of exercise science or a related field by August 2025. Applicants who are ABD for the terminal degree may be considered depending on expected completion date.  A commitment to quality teaching and scholarship along with active participation in allied professional organizations is necessary. University-level teaching experience, a record of scholarly activity, the ability to involve undergraduate students in research, and an NSCA CSCS or ACSM-EP certification is preferred. 

Responsibilities: 

Primary responsibilities are for teaching undergraduate courses supporting majors in Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, and Fitness Management. The successful candidate must be able to teach a variety of exercise science courses, such as physiology of exercise, biomechanics, current topics in exercise science/ undergraduate research methods, motor development, exercise leadership, intro to exercise science, exercise in health and disease, and nutrition. The successful candidate will also provide and/or promote opportunities for undergraduate student involvement in research. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in student advising and coordination of practicum experiences. Service to the university and the community is expected. 

Salary: 

Competitive, dependent upon qualifications and experience.  Start-up package for research is negotiable.

The Augustana University Nursing Program invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor. A doctorate in nursing or related discipline is required, as is advanced practice certification as an adult-gero clinical nurse specialist or adult-gero acute care nurse practitioner. All eligible candidates will be considered.

The learning environment offers state-of-the art active learning classrooms and high-fidelity simulation laboratories. Position Title: Visiting Assistant Professor of, Government & International Affairs

The Department of Government and International Affairs at Augustana University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position. The effective start date is August 20, 2025. 

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment. The position involves teaching seven courses each academic year: three courses per semester, with an additional course during the three-week Interim term in January. We seek a scholar who can contribute to our efforts to enhance the variety and international content of our upper-level course offerings, as well as offer sections of our Introduction to Government courses taught within the general education curriculum. We are open to scholars approaching these tasks from the standpoint of international relations, law and/or political theory. 

Qualifications: 

A Ph.D. completed by August 1, 2025 is strongly preferred, with evidence of teaching excellence expected.
