Foundations of Faith Community Nursing

ChapelFoundations of Faith Community Nursing is a collaborative course offering of Augustana University, Avera Health and Sanford Health.

This course is a multi-part offering that provides the foundational education necessary to prepare state-licensed RNs to enter the practice faith community nurse ministry in their respective congregation or faith community. The Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Training Modules from Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing serve as the foundation course and align with Faith Community Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice (2017, 3rd edition) published by the American Nurses Association and the Health Ministries Association. The course is open to people of all faiths and religions.

The Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course is based on the curriculum developed through the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing, which curriculum is owned by the Spiritual Care Association, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 900 New York, NY 10018.

Sanford Health, the provider of this educational activity and responsible party for the adherence to ANCC criteria, has worked together with joint providers, Augustana University and Avera Health to design, implement and evaluate this activity.
