Description: MnACC, along with contributions from the Minnesota Association for College Admission Counseling (MACAC), provides scholarships for students of color who are in pursuit of higher education.

Spencer Hospital Ruth Cornwall Memorial Student LOAN Fund

Amount: an applicant may BORROW up to $2,000 a year, to a maximum of $5,000 for all years
Description: the Ruth Cornwall Memorial Student Loan was established to assist persons interested in entering the nursing or an allied health profession, or to complete an advanced degree in one of these areas. Preference is given to Spencer Hospital employees or family members.

Critical Teaching Needs Scholarship
Deadline: 04/15
Amount: varies
Description:This scholarship is available to current undergraduate students who are South Dakota high school graduates, in their final two years of post-secondary education pursuing one of the following Critical Teaching Need areas: Teaching K-12 special education in a public, private, or parochial school, Teaching high school math or science in a public, private, or parochial, school. Teaching high school career and technical education (in a public, private,or parochial school). Students that apply and are awarded the scholarship will in-turn sign a promissory note agreeing to work in one of the teaching fields above for a time frame of 5 years in South Dakota after graduating from a participating post-secondary institution.
