Camps, Festivals and Competitions

Augustana hosts several annual events on campus that promote the arts:

  • The Lee Piano Festival — Scheduled for Feb. 15-16 with guest artist Michael Gurt, the festival celebrates all things piano and awards scholarships to incoming students.

  • Jazz on the Upper Great Plains Festival — Up to 50 high school bands from throughout the region participate in this annual March festival, held March 5-6.
  • Orchestra Festival — AU will be hosting its inaugural April 13-14 Orchestra Festival culminating in a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 on Saturday, April 14, at the Washington Pavilion.
  • Summer Music Camp is set for June 4-9.  You'll find the finest in musical instruction, performance opportunities and FUN for six days.
  • VikeSing Men's Choral Festival — The VikeSing Men's Choral Festival was on Thursday, Oct. 19, and was open to male students in grades 9-12 who are currently members of one of their school choirs. More than 150 young men joined us. Watch for details on the date for 2018!

  • Augustana Band Festival — Each November, students from high schools in four states participate in workshops and rehearsals for three days prior to a Grand Finale Concert. The 60th Annual Festival was held Nov. 10-11, 2017, and featured guest conductor John Mackey.

  • The Augustana High School Art Invitational Exhibition — Open to area high school artists who are recommended by their teachers. The 2018 Invitational runs Jan. 10-Feb. 7.
