Women's Leadership Scholarship

The Women of Augustana

“The Women of Augustana” is a video showcasing some of the amazing ways Augustana women have made an impact on our campus and the world since 1860. Narrated by Dr. Sandra Looney '62 (English) and Maren Engel '13, the video honors the inauguration of Stephanie Herseth Sandlin as our 24th president.

Following the inauguration of President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, an anonymous donor blessed us with a gift of $5,000 as seed money to create a Women’s Leadership Scholarship endowment fund.

The donor was inspired by President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin’s emphasis on empowering women to be the next generation of leaders for our nation, for our business and civic communities, as well as right here on campus.

Your gift to the Women's Leadership Scholarship endowment fund will help provide a scholarship to a female Augustana junior or senior who embodies the characteristics that will help her be counted among “the women of Augustana” as she embarks on a career of leadership and service following her time here at Augustana.

Our goal is to raise $25,000, the minimum requirement to establish an endowed scholarship. Once we reach this goal, we will be able to provide an annual $1,000 scholarship to aspiring young women for years to come.
