Nursing

The Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree at Augustana is an art and a science.

As a nursing major at Augustana, your education will prepare you to provide the best care possible to your future patients. Pass rated on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) at Augustana are consistently higher than the state and national average. You will not want to prepare for your nursing career anywhere else.

The baccalaureate program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and is approved by the South Dakota Board of Nursing. Augustana has the only four-year professional nursing program in the region with a liberal arts curriculum as its foundation.

For more than 75 years, Augustana's Department of Nursing has been a regional leader in preparing nurses. Our innovative program values excellence and service and provides experiences for students to cultivate their personal, intellectual, and professional growth. Augustana graduates are prepared to address issues in a complex 21st centure health care environment.

From the moment you decide to major in nursing, you will be welcomed to a department that works with you to tailor your course of study to your interests. Nursing majors excel here and are also actively involved as student-athletes, musicians, participate in study abroad, and more.
