Augustana Counseling Services works with a variety of resources to meet every student's emotional health and well-being. Augustana University works closely with Sioux Falls Psychological Services which provides students with a comprehensive and multidisciplinary group of more than a dozen mental health professionals.
Students will receive confidential, short-term individual counseling for a variety of personal issues such as adjustment to college, self-esteem, anxiety, depression and loss. Students may choose to see a counselor at Sioux Falls Psychological Services located on Summit Avenue, across the street from the Mikkelsen Library.
Cost ― There is no cost for full-time students (and part-time who have paid the student activities fee during the fall and/or spring semester). Students who require extended or long-term therapy may either be referred to other counseling services in the area or can choose to establish long-term or extended treatment plans with Sioux Falls Psychological Services. Counselors are available to provide assistance with insurance and sliding scales.
Hours ― Students are seen by appointment on weekdays during the academic year and during summer school when classes are in session
Monday-Thursday (8 a.m. - 8 p.m.)
Friday (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
