Viking Days 2020

After months of planning various scenarios for Viking Days 2020, we have decided to move forward with a virtual celebration for alumni. While this is not the ideal format to celebrate, it is the most responsible. The health and safety of our students, alumni, and our entire community are the most important priorities for us all.

With the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference’s decision, this will be a Viking Days without athletic competitions. The Viking Days Central Committee will reimagine many Viking Days traditions, such as the parade, coronation, and worship, and perhaps create some new ones in the process. Follow Viking Days on Facebook to share your support and to learn more about what is sure to be a unique Viking Days for the entire Augustana community.

Homecoming is one of Augustana’s longest standing traditions, dating back to the first celebration on Oct. 24, 1924. Named Viking Days in 1929, this tradition remains one of the most celebrated times of the year when alumni return to reminisce, reconnect and make new memories at their alma mater. We look forward to celebrating Viking Days and making new memories  — SKOL!
