Make plans to come home again and celebrate Viking Days with your alma mater! Join us for these special events during the week, and all of your favorites on the weekend. Viking Days — one of the best times to celebrate being an Augustana Viking!

Here's what's in store each day.
Ole Stock (for the campus community): Ole Stock, the all-campus picnic, kicks off Viking Days week with dinner and fun for the whole family 5-7 p.m., Elmen Center. Faculty and staff: register now.
Coronation and Fireworks: Meet the 2014 Homecoming Court and see who's crowned Viking Days King and Queen, 7:30 p.m., Elmen Center.
Comedians (for students): 5:30 and 8 p.m., Kresge Recital Hall
50th Class Reunion Social (1964): 7 p.m., Fellows' Presidential Residence, 37th Street and Grange Avenue. This informal kick-off social is hosted by the 50th Class Reunion Committee. Light snacks and beverages will be served.
All Day – Gallery Exhibits:
- South Dakota 2014 Art Exhibit and Sale: Observing the State's 125th Anniversary, Center for Western Studies
- Exhibition by Donald Johnson '09, Center for Visual Arts
All Day – Augustana Business and Career Symposium: The Career Symposium provides a unique opportunity for alumni to share their career experiences with current students through panel and classroom discussions. Interested in participating? Contact us at email@example.com.
Honor Guard Coffee Reception: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Siverson Lounge, Morrison Commons. Honor Guard alumni are invited to begin the weekend with coffee and conversation with classmates. Honor Guard alumni are graduates from 1963 and earlier.
Chapel: 10 a.m., Chapel of Reconciliation.
Campus Tours: Morning tours begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Commons Concourse, Morrison Commons. Meet us at the Viking Days information table in the Commons for a group tour with a current Augustana student.
Langskip 5K Packet Pickup: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Siverson Lounge, Morrison Commons. Race packets will be available for pickup. Packets also may be picked up the morning of the race.
Honor Guard Luncheon: 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., 3-in-1 Room inside Morrison Commons. A festive luncheon for graduates who have celebrated their 50th class reunion, including members of the Class of 1964 (celebrating their 50th reunion this fall). Featuring a presentation by Dr. Lynwood Oyos, professor emeritus of History, on his latest book, "Reveille for Sioux Falls." Learn more and register.
Hoops Golf Tournament: Noon at at Bakker Crossing Golf Course. Learn more and register.
Campus Tours: Afternoon tours begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Commons Concourse, Morrison Commons. Meet us at the Viking Days information table in the Commons for a group tour with a current Augustana student.
50th Class Reunion Memorial Service (1964): 1:30 p.m., Chapel of Reconciliation. A service to remember and honor departed classmates.
Rendezvous presentation on China: Students present on their home countries at 3 p.m. on Fridays in the Back Alley. Hosted by the International Program Office and Augustana International Club, this event is free and open to the public.
Froemke Chemistry Lecture: Reception at 3:30 p.m., Lecture at 4 p.m., featuring Dr. Mark Viste '92, Gilbert Science Center. Free and open to the public.
50th Reunion Social Hour and Banquet (1964): 5:30 p.m. Social/6 p.m. Dinner, Ballroom B, Sioux Falls Convention Center. Enjoy dinner, conversation and entertainment while you reminisce with your classmates. Learn more and register.
Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet: 6 p.m. Social Hour; 7 p.m. Dinner, Ballroom A, Sioux Falls Convention Center. Celebrate this year's Athletic Hall of Fame honorees at this annual banquet. Registration is required.
Augustana Volleyball vs. UMD: 7 p.m., Elmen Center. Buy tickets.
Gallery Reception and Artist's Talk: 7 p.m., Atrium, Center for Visual Arts, with exhibition by alumni artist Donald Johnson '09.
The Blast: An All-Augustana Celebration of Viking Days (recognizing the classes ending in 4 and 9): 7 p.m., Exhibit Hall, Sioux Falls Convention Center. For alumni, faculty/staff, parents and friends recognizing the reunion classes ending in 4 and 9. This special event will be held at the Sioux Falls Convention Center in the Exhibit Hall. Featuring hors d'oeuvres, blackjack and casino tables, live music, a DJ and dancing, fantastic door prizes, and areas to simply visit and catch up. Tickets are $30. Learn more and register.
Langskip 5K: Check in at 8:30 a.m.; race begins at 9 a.m. at 29th Street and Summit Avenue. Register.
Viking Days Pancake Feed: 9:30 a.m., Commons Drive and Grange Avenue. Come to the parade ready to eat pancakes and see faculty members (our guest pancake flippers!) from the Performing and Visual Arts departments. This is a fundraiser to benefit the PVA. Tickets will be available at the event; $7/$5 for kids.
Homecoming Parade: 10:30 a.m., College Drive (formerly 28th St.) to 33rd Street on Grange Avenue.
- To accommodate the parade, no parking will be allowed on the parade route effective 6 a.m. until the end of the parade.
- 28th St. (College Drive) — From Prairie Ave. to Grange Ave.
- Grange Ave. — From 26th St. to 33rd St.
Alumni Band Rehearsal: 10:45 a.m., Lillehaug Band Room, Humanities Building. Band alumni are invited to participate in the pep band during the Vikings football game. Interested alumni should report to the Band Room for rehearsal with Dr. Paul Schilf, and will walk over to the Stadium at noon. The pep band will play in the tailgate area and then for the football game.
Visit Heritage Park: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Heritage Park is a collection of historic Great Plains buildings dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Its facilities will be open for visitation and tours during Viking Days. Stop by Heritage Park, located on the south side of the Augustana campus, on your way to the Football Game. Here you will see the Rolvaag Writing Cabin, the Berdahl/Rolvaag House, Eggers Country School and Beaver Creek Lutheran Church. Admission is free.
Viking Days Tailgate and Vikingland: 11:30 a.m. outside Kirkeby-Over Stadium. Bring your family for lunch and games for the kids before the Vikings kickoff. Tickets will be available at the event.
50th Class Reunion Tailgate (1964): 11:30 a.m., Fellows' Presidential Residence, 37th Street and Grange Avenue. The Class of 1964 is invited to a special tailgate lunch at the President's House. Meet your classmates here before heading over to the football game. Event is free; registration required. Register.
Viking Days Football Game vs. University of Mary: 1 p.m., Kirkeby-Over Stadium. Buy tickets.
Alumni Choir Rehearsal: 4:30 p.m., Kresge Recital Hall, Humanities Building. All choir alumni are invited to sing under the direction of Dr. Paul Nesheim, director of The Augustana Choir. Alumni will sing with The Augustana Choir at Viking Days worship on Sunday in the Elmen Center.
Augustana Volleyball vs. St. Cloud: 5:30 p.m., Elmen Center. Buy tickets.
Alumni Achievement Award Dinner: 6 p.m., Minnehaha Country Club. This is a special dinner event to honor our 2014 Alumni Achievement and Horizon Award winners. Invitation only.
Reunion Year and Affinity Gatherings: Throughout the evening. Social events are scheduled by individual classes and organizations. See details.
Alumni Choir Rehearsal: 9 a.m., Elmen Center.
Viking Days Worship: 10 a.m., Elmen Center.
Viking Days Brunch: 11:30 a.m., Ordal Dining Room, Morrison Commons. Tickets available at the door.
GSC Farewell Open House: 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., Gilbert Science Center. Alumni and friends are invited to join current and emeriti faculty for a day of farewells to GSC, as we knew it, and celebrations of the Froiland Science Complex, ahead. The Open House will be held following the Ground Blessing Ceremony during Viking Days Worship; and will feature student research, new renderings and a video tour, along with refreshments and lots of reminiscing. No registration required.
