The mission of the Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing (SC&M) is to create awareness while enhancing the image and reputation of Augustana University.

Telling the Augustana story is the goal of each image, advertisement and event. SC&M aims to project a consistent brand identity, establish and promote events that celebrate the joy of Augustana, report campus news, maintain strong relationships with the media and broader Sioux Falls community, recognize the achievements of students, professors and alumni, as well as target communication to each of our audiences using a variety of media.

Augustana University accounting graduates who took the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination for the first time in 2024 had the highest pass rate in South Dakota and the sixth-highest in the nation. This is according to the latest data released by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA.

Augustana University student Zach Richardson ‘26, of Canton, South Dakota, was given an opportunity to intern with Sports Illustrated in Fall 2025. The journalism and media studies double major, and AU Football player for five years, said building meaningful connections in the journalism field is important to his future career.

Augustana University students Lilly Roberts ‘26, Vanessa Romero ‘26 and Jessalyn Wienk ‘27 are the 2025-26 recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which supports students nationwide, helping them in developing language and culture skills that are important to their academic and career growth.
