Biography
Dr. Muhammet Ali Asil is a political science scholar, specializing in poitical theory and international relations. He earned his Ph.D. in political science from Loyola University Chicago after completing his B.A. in sociology at Bogazici University and his M.A. in international relations at Sehir University in Istanbul, Turkey.
Dr. Asil's research focuses on the ethics of forced displacement, examining communities' duties toward refugees from a normative perspective. From 2018 to 2023, he taught various courses in Loyola University Chicago's political science department, including introductory political theory, international organizations, nuclear security and proliferation, international political philosophy, ancient political thought, and political theory of refugees. He is currently a visiting assistant professor in Augustana University's government and international affairs department.
