Augustana’s School of Music Annual Jazz Festival Celebrates 50th Anniversary
The Augustana University School of Music (SoM) announced that the Augustana Northlanders Jazz Band, along with 800 middle and high school students from three states, will perform during the 50th Annual Jazz on the Upper Great Plains Festival on Monday, March 3, and Tuesday, March 4. This year’s Jazz on the Upper Great Plains Festival will feature the U.S. Air Force Academy Band “The Falconaires.” To learn more about the 2025 Jazz on the Upper Great Plains Festival, visit augie.edu/JazzFestival.

Engineering the Future: Augustana University Launches New Hybrid Program to Meet Demands of Rapidly-Evolving Field
Augustana University is offering a new 5-year dual-degree engineering program — set to launch in Fall 2025. As part of the new program, students will take foundational courses at Augustana, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in chemistry, physics or mathematics at the university. Students will begin taking online engineering courses in their second year — offered through the University of North Dakota (UND).
This is in addition to Augustana's other dual-degree engineering options.

Augustana’s 28th Boe Forum to Feature Presidential Historian
Hosted by Augustana University and the Center for Western Studies (CWS), the 28th Boe Forum on Public Affairs will feature an evening with Jon Meacham, presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. The talk, entitled “What Has America Learned?” will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 19, in the Elmen Center on Augustana’s campus.

Thanks to the Jean Schroeder Educational Trust, Augustana University has received nearly $1 million for endowed student scholarships. The trust was established by Dr. A.T. (Andy) Anderson in memory of his late wife, Jean Schroeder ‘60.
Augustana University’s School of Music Hosts 2024 J. Earl Lee Collaborative Piano Festival
The Augustana University School of Music is excited to announce its 2024 J. Earl Lee Piano Festival on Friday, Feb. 23, at Hamre Recital Hall in the Fryxell Humanities Center. As part of the festival, prospective and current Augustana students will have the opportunity to sit in on a masterclass and receive coaching from Grammy-nominated Joyce Yang.
