Augustana University student Tiana Townsend ‘22 was named the lead author of a paper recently published in the peer-reviewed journal Frontiers in Physics — a rare achievement for an undergraduate. 

Augustana student Taha Afzal ‘22 is double majoring in computer science/software engineering and data science. Afzal spent the summer as a software engineer intern with Raven Industries, Inc. 

Augustana is excited to announce that the university will offer a semester-long study abroad program in Central America with a physical location in Costa Rica.

Augustana student Ellie Holmes ‘22, of Brandon, South Dakota, is majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish. As an intern, she split her time throughout the summer in the research lab at Augustana and at Fernson Brewing Company in Sioux Falls.

Drs. Joyce and Margot Nelson were named recipients of the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award — a first for Augustana. 

This summer, Hovorka is interning at OmegaQuant in Sioux Falls, but also spends his time as a member of the Augustana Theatre Department, building supervisor at Recreational Services, recruiting officer of the Dungeons and Dragons Club, Viking Advisor in Campus Life and ambassador in the Admission Office.
