40th Annual Artists of the Plains Art Show & Sale

Sharon Welch speaks with visitors at the 2019 Artists of the Plains Art Show & Sale.

The Center for Western Studies is proud to announce that big changes are coming to the Artists of the Plains Art Show and Sale for its 40th anniversary!

As the largest and longest running show of its kind in the region, Artists of the Plains is an annual highlight of the Center’s Art Program and Educational Exhibits, one of several programming areas supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The event is a gift to the artists and collectors of the Northern Plains.

In its 40th year, the show will be returning to its roots. Artist of the Plains began as a fall show, which gave patrons not only great weather to attend the event, but also ample opportunity to purchase holiday gifts.

We are excited to announce the 2020 dates will be November 6-8, 2020. We will be returning to the beautiful Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Sioux Falls. Mark your calendars now, because we want you to help us celebrate 40 years of phenomenal art and artists!

Artists can look for applications to be mailed out and made available on our website in June 2020. If you are not currently on our mailing list and would like to have an application mailed to you, please contact Education Assistant Kristi Thomas (kristi.thomas@augie.edu or 605.274.4005).
