Augustana Club Hockey — set to begin in the fall — has its first head coach. Ben Prisbe has been selected to lead the university’s inaugural club hockey program, which will consist of a men’s and women’s team. Jet-Setting and Carbon-Offsetting: Augustana Sending 155 Students Around the World for Second Carbon-Neutral January Interim
A total of 155 Augustana University students are studying away for January Interim (J-Term) 2024 — a 4-week session between semesters designed to be a time of curricular exploration and enrichment for students. This January, Augustana students, along with 17 faculty members, are traveling to 17 countries.

Augustana Professor, 2023 Alumna Published in International Research Journal
Augustana University alumna Eleanor Weckwerth ‘23 and Professor of Physics Dr. Eric Wells were part of a research team that was published in “Nature Communications." Weckwerth and Wells joined researchers from Kansas State (KSU) and Michigan State (MSU) Universities to publish “Initial state characterization of hydrogen migration following strong-field double-ionization of ethanol.” The research behind the article began in 2018 using ultrafast laser pulses at the J.R. Macdonald Laboratory at KSU.

Yuletide, as we know it — a celebration of the holiday season with a buffet-style dinner for Augustana faculty, staff, retirees and their families — began in 2017, with the arrival of Herseth Sandlin. Bringing the community together to celebrate Christmas has always been an Augustana tradition.
