Biography 
Dr. Kelcie Vercel is a sociologist specializing in family, material culture, identity and consumption. She is particularly interested in the ways that meanings of family, work and the home impact intimate relationships, economic decisions and communities. Her research has examined the father identity among low-income fathers, cultural meanings of home buying and homeownership and tattoo regret. At Augustana, Vercel offers courses in the family and community services emphasis and minor, research methodology and topics in cultural sociology.
